Indoor Frogster Autopot "Zamnesia" Grow

I carried out some Defoliation on Amnesia Haze Plant 1 today....

She is very healthy, producing 9 fingered leaves from day 25.... She may well produce an 11 - if she carries on stretching.

Leaves looking good, no nutrient burns or deficiencies noticeable, no watering problems or insect attack...

Day 35

The weather still has not improved enough to get the plants out of the tent and into some daylight for a photo.... so took a few more in-tent.

One of my "Clip Fans" decided to Un-Clip itself and fell onto Amnesia Haze plant 2, It severed a branch, just a minor injury and she will recover fine.

The offending fan has now been cable tied in position to prevent it happening again.

The Auto Caramel has really started to bulk up, reached the top of the supporting frame and will stretch some more yet.

She is responding well to the feeding regime I have her on, and filling out nicely, some more LST for her later in the week.

Both the Amnesia Haze plants are completing the final growth stretch.

Below is photo looking from the side of the tent...
  • Front Left - Amnesia Haze (plant 2) Caught up in height, Main Cola LST to the side (this triggers other branches/buds to go for gold). Buds are starting to form nicely.
  • Front Right - Amnesia Haze (plant 1) Main Cola LST to the side She is perking up after the defoliation and started to fill back out again, buds are starting to form nicely.
  • Back - Caramel, developing in to a very nicely shaped and balanced plant, liking her more every day.

Hey, Thanks for stopping by....

Pretty much this, I think, although a few other toys may come out to play.

It's the set-up I used for my last grow, and I was happy with the way it all worked. But, I do like to tinker and improve on things if I can. So it may change as we go along.

Ventilation / Intake

  • Outside Air from Ground Level >>> Wall Hole Entrance with Bug Screen >>> Ducting >>> 5" Systemair High Volume Fan >>> (Enter Tent) 5" Ducting >>> Diffuser (to be fitted)
Filtration / Exhaust
  • 8" Rhino Pro Carbon Filter (800m/3) >>> Reduced to 6" Duct >>> Powerplant Aerowing Air Cooled "Sealed" Reflector >>> 6" Duct >>> High Velocity Systemair 6" (720m/3) >>> (Exit Tent) Acoustic Ducting >>> Wall Exit.
Lighting
  • Lumatek Digital Dimmable Pro System, 600W 400v
  • 600w 400v Dual spectrum enhanced bulb & MH & HPS 400W bulbs
  • 600w Mars Hydro LED (old style), for side fill if required
  • Fully adjustable height of all lights to Max Height if required (Flexable ducting on Light Hood)
Environmental Control
  • 4ft x 4ft x 6ft Tent
  • Evolution Fan / Temp / Rh Controller
  • 4ft Tower oscillating fan
  • Assorted clip fans
  • Humidifier / Fogger with variable level, pumps cooling fog to plants
  • De-Humidifier
  • Home Built Humidifier / De-Humidifier Controller
  • TFA Kilmalog Pro with 4 sensors in tent, recording temp & RH every 1 min.
  • V20 Air Pump
  • Tube Heater and backup 1K fan heater
  • Other Bits & Bobs.
Medium Etc
  • Autopot system, Dual Grow & Bloom Res
  • Ferro Nutrients (Regional Adjusted)
  • Airdomes
  • Water Res Pumps
  • Soil & Pebbles, (Canna Terra Pro)
One other little thing I like, but has made all the difference... the De-Humidifier is fully height adjustable, so you can raise or lower it as required, space saving. The height also allows the De-Humidifier to run water back to stock, outside tent.
One hell of a setup you got their man [emoji50] [emoji50] [emoji50] [emoji41] [emoji41] [emoji41]

Damn @Frogster looking real good in there!!

:slap:

Thanks all @HemiSync, @IzzyTheGrower, @Powerful14.

Yes I am happy with them and the setup, nice when a plan comes together....

And to answer @Eyeoftheworld's question, "Do I think the clipped branch will affect growth at all ?"

I think (and I emphasise...this is my own personal opinion) it only creates a minor stress on the plant... it is, after all, just 1 single cut site... the plant seals it off and gets on with an extra growth spurt to compensate for it's loss.

If you think about it, when you defoliate, the plant undergoes far more stress from multiple cuts, and it copes with that... .... cuts and limb/leaf loss, all stress the plant in the same way, just different levels.

The net result from minor stress can be positive, i.e. the plants "knee jerk reaction" is to put on a growth spurt to compensate. That spurt or boost, often extends to the whole plant/buds, and can be of greater value than what would have happened in normal growth.

For those reasons, and others I think I have explained elsewhere, I defoliate just at the end of normal growth, and sometimes again in flower (although to a lesser extent).

This is all still "Work in Progress" on my part, still playing with variances and finding out what does what.... and I hasten to add - I am not a scientist or professional..... but, at this stage... Yep, that's what I think.

Phew..... :pass:
