Hay good luck everyone, I got all my bits together just need to put it together now this weekend and hope the temps are OK,going to be a busy weekend, if temps OK will put a couple of seeds in water to soak,super exited, extremely nervous, will I still get a mephisto badge if I grow in this thread without a thread of my own? Anyways I will put an extended post in of my plans at weekend,better get some battery's for me camera as well

I am not Sure the Mephisto badge, you could make a second thread that simply has photos of your grow, which is what I was going to potentially do. But I would guess if you document start to finish you could make one long thread post with all of your photos from start ton finish and copy paste it over.

Already dropped mine found out my camera is toast Ben 10 years since I used it all my pro equipment is almost 20 years old so I guess I will start looking for a cheap point and shoot.Hope everything works out for you I'm still unable to run my hps full strength and that's just because I won't add another Ac my house stays 66 degrees year round and that cost around 300.00 a month as long as I don't go over 75% I'm fine if I can't grow with 750 watts then I guess I will give up lol my grape crinkle made a appearance today I'm going to go start looking at cameras I also dropped 5 other mephisto beans I will get a journal up and going on those girls sometime next week.Good Luck to everyone this is going to be really fun!

Going to be great. You can find a cheap point and shoot digital camera a lot of places for under $50 that will do just fine. I'm excited with you!

For those of you that have not grown a Grape Crinkle before ya'll are really in for a treat. The Grape Crinkle girls are really something special. Their level of sticky goodness is at a level I myself have never seen before. I am at day 54 of my second Grape Crinkle and to move her around in and out of the cabinet my hands and forearms feel like they are covered in glue!

A treat is just what I need. I plan to make a lot of edibles with my fan leaves and form giggles smoke a few to see if Inger toasted. What an exciting journey. Gonna have to wear gloves myself and just get the finger hash off to smoke during the grow. Great treat that will be.

Day 1. I let the bean soak in the papertowel for 2 days and the seed popped all the way.

Well I have put everything together, took longer than I expected and temps on high side but will have to do, ambient temps are going to drop soon anyways, grape crinkle soaking and a couple others that I going to do in a thread to hopefully get a mephisto badge thanks for the heads up, it's took it out of me putting it all together hopefully won't be a trip to a&e will be sleeping on the floor for a while for sure anyways hopefully we'll worth it,realised the generic 300 led light ain't going to cut it for 3 plants in that tent but should suffice for next couple of weeks of veg, edit just ordered a larger light that fits the size for tent nothing special but more watts, my other half is shaking her head lol

Been watching your thread they are awsome, that girl is huge,get a few soils grows under me belt and save some money for the extras and i will try that method your results speak for themselfs

Glad everything is together, sorry that it took a long time! and it will be worth it, because you can use the set up for other grows too and now the hard part is over! You can always start your ladies off on a stool or something to make it so you don't have to bendover

The first times you do seeds, its hard to get right. did you do the mephisto method and put it in a papertowel thats moist and then tuck it under a tent pole near a light? I did that this time and just waited two days before even touching the seed, and you see what happened!

I had a weird pop myself, as you can see it did a full opening, and usually that doesnt happen. If you get a little taproot going, you take that seed and put it in the ground and then barely cover it with your medium, and mark it with a small stick or something and just mist and put a humidity dome over it making the best of both the presoak method and the plant in ground method. That';s what I did for my toof decay and it is doing well. How long are you waiting and what method are you using? I've had better success with the papertowel method than any other.

Those two threads do help a lot! I use the mephisto method and i get good germination. Although this bean popped unique, i picked the smallest seed and even the codyl leaves formed while the bean was still in the towel. That was craziness for me. ive never seen that in my own short time. its already forming its first set of true leaves. i think the hardest part for us newbies is getting the bean to pop

Couldn't agree more @MissUniverse. Paper towel worked great for me. 24 hour soak, 24 hour paper towel and i had 5/5 taproots. Dropped in medium and sprouts about a day later. I used to direct sow, but it usually took a week to get a sprout, this method is 3-4 days faster to sprout.

Germination seems to be one of those things people fight about what method is best. But it is also one of those things that a number of growers are most confused about. Not trying to beat McToasty up but save yourself the time and SKIP the 24hr soak next time. My 100% fool proof method is just straight wet paper tower in a Tupperware container. The often missed important part is you them place the container someplace warm. I place mine either on top of my DVD player(left on) or my cable box. They provide just enough heat to get things moving in a hurry. All we are trying to do is verify the seed is good and that we have a small tap root. All we need is 1/8th of an inch(3mm), we don't need nor frankly want a half inch long root at this point. A longer root now can get damaged while planting. Again the warmth is what gets things started. I have seen guys drop seeds into cold cup of water and put them in the refrigerator and wonder why nothing happens! I have never had a seed take longer than 24hrs from start to soil. I have had a couple Mephisto's go as fast as 18hrs using this method.
