I haven't started any journals or posts either I don't think I'm shit at keeping up with whatever it is I do lol I hate Facebook n pretty much all the rest of social media as well.. I may just make a post of a grow from start to finish not such a journal but picks weekly or every few days n more than likely ask for help along the way if n when needed lol got two seeds I'm waiting on mite Post thos up if I remember.. Probs only here on afn I'd ever post pics..

Here's a bit of history .... We (and i mean AFN) ... (or the heart of AFN), was originally just a thread at Roll it Up called "The Art of the Auto" (if i remember correctly).
We were looked down upon for growing "silly autos" "waste of space" and generally not given a lot of love. (Low Ryder 2 was hot at the time haha)

We needed our own place - And Mossy and her original crew made it here for us!

Times have changed a lot for autos, so maybe they've chilled the hell out (lol) ... but this is still and will most likely stay, the coolest canna site on the web, with the best attitude towards people.

I came from RUI and the art of the auto - it must have been nearly a decade ago!




edit: ... Upps.... meant to say I don't think i'm a pro nor do i know everything. I'm constanly surprized and impressed with people!

And ironically it looks like autos will be a big wave in the future. Theres alot of movement headed this way from what ive seen. Fingers crossed. It just meens better science and strains and yeilds for autos.

This is the only canna site I've ever gotten involved with. I've lurked RIU, GC, and THCF and the amount of toxicity and just cancerous behavior on other sites is crazy. So unlike the real life canna community where most people are just burning a bowl and hanging out.

I think a lot of it is them trying to curry favor with the old-timer members that are set in their ways. "If subcool doesn't like autos then I won't either" etc.

I like it here, you guys are stuck with me.

It's pretty funny reading threads on the other boards and having a few helpful comments and a ton of hate post after post . I mean sometimes I Google a topic and find my self reading those forums and it's tough to find threads with genuinely good content. Gotta weed out all the haters

Afn will have it's work cut out moderating these things in the future as the exposure of this board grows. Keeping the peace while being fair :/

I just googled something in regard to growing and it brought me to a post on "another board".

Oh my lord, they were soooo nasty to this one poor guy who was only asking a legitimate question.
Rude, Nasty, Mean, Condescending....I couldn't believe it was being allowed. Horrible.
Poor newbie.....I wanted to contact him somehow and help him (both in his growing question, and to tell him I know one site that is awesome, and to not fret, that not all growers out there are ASSHOLES...) but I am not a member of that board~ And never will be!!!


Makes me appreciate AFN more and more.

I've only seen two forums that weren't tedious hate-fests. One was electronics, the other is AFN. And AFN is the only forum that I take part in now days. The negativity on other forums is pervasive and can wear person out. The behavior is absurd and eventually it bleeds into their reality. If hate-fest people were able to stand back and really take stock of themselves, most wouldn't like what they see. Responsibility is nowhere to be found in far too many of these cases.
Anonymity in social media is sorely in need of change that reflects the policies and laws of our reality. It's coming, but it's coming slowly.

lol, yeah and you gotta take into account the fact that sometimes people get brave and often become a totally different person when they get behind a keyboard. your right all too often some people kinda sell themselves out in order to buddy up to an old timer. that just makes them look shallow and demeans them in the long run in my opinion.

I've had death threats on RIU! Another member who I'm friends with told be the guy was in another thread making the threats. I just laughed it off as I noticed he never returned to the thread that started the whole stupid thing. And I only participate in 3 particular LED threads there!

I almost gave up on canna forums when I first looked into them. Then I found AFN and found a home! You'll never see the kind of behavior common on other forums here!
