you know ive heard a lot of people say this and didnt realize how true it actually was until i recently snooped around my old stomping ground forums that are still active and its true..very low standards of conduct and moderation it seems...back in the day when BOG, Subcool, newganjaboy, nimby and many other cutting edge breeders & growers were still in their prime and making a name for themselves, it wasnt that way on those same forums, at least not to the extent it has gotten now..times have changed i suppose. the grow community was much friendlier back then. AFN seems to be a throwback to the good old days when loudly buzzing hps "stealth" cabinets and common decency were still a thing

A long time ago I belonged to another grow site. I posted pics of my little babies as I was so darn proud. Someone answered me with "Hey newbie, we don't want to see pics of this cr*p. Come back when you have some REAL pics to show of bud."
Hence, I cried for an hour and searched around for another site~found AFN.

Just for the heck of it....I figured I would go back to that old site, ya know...just for laughs.
I saw a new person asking a question in regard to nutes, and this was someones reply:
“Hey newbie, I recommend before asking you do some reading on your own. Your dumb questions could be solved with 3 minutes of reading. I think this is a crash course in forum edicate. You need to answer these really stupid trivial questions on your own or your never going to make it.”
I actually messaged this poor new person and gave him a mom hug...ha ha.

That word newbie always reminds me of some kid sitting behind a computer thinking he's super cool. Bahahahahahahahaha. Most true horticulturist/botanists I ever known where always super laid back and extremely helpful. They definitely didn't talk shit to people that showed interest in learning on how to grow plants. Guess I lucked out that I've only ever been on AFN. Hearing someone talk to me like that in the beginning would of really turned me off to the online thing.

You know, it almost made me stop growing, isnt that wierd? that someones comments on a darn computer could have stopped me from my passion.
Yeah, no one who is a true, passionate, dedicated grower would ever talk to someone new like that. Shows who they really are.
They talk to people like that cos they know everything.. Even from their first ever grow nothing went wrong at all n they got two lbs from half a plant lol doyles man.. Can try grow two plants with a 60w cfl n people here still help and guide without any pointing n laughing at what they have.. [emoji16]

heck yes!....I notice the ones that bully others always have the perfect 1-2 pound harvest.
I started with cfl's and had people calling me a loser on another site. AFN folks understand we work with what we got, and everyone has to start somewhere!!..(hey, some folks get great bud from cfl's!!)
