Flushing vs. Flushing

People hate to give up what they know, even when they realize its not working. And I've been told and I qoute: "well science is wrong then, I know it works!" Uh huh..lol!

And good to question things! Seeking answers will eventually set you on the right path!

@pop22 Thanks, that makes good sense. Like I said all really new to me and I still have a ton to learn. It's also very possible that I miss understood what was told to me. There is so much, "Well this worked for me" out there that I have been really working to understand the science as much as possible but so far I have found little to really talk about this subject from a plant physiology perspective.

Re Toilet Flushing ... can you tell this to my teenage girls who seem to have lost this function?

I think in the Auto world we often forget the compressed life cycle of these plants (often as low as 60 days), the concept of a two week flush (sorry cleanse) is alien to me << I will taper off nutes where used (soil grower) - but 2 weeks that's like (hmm brain whir) say 15% of the plants life cycle time, I'm sure the plant could be doing other things than dealing with a sudden shock from drop-off of available nutrients as the 'cleanse' runs thru with 2 weeks to go.

I'm also not convinced on the 'makes it taste better' either : I think there are so many other factors in the curing process that probably cause more variation in flavour than a few nutes still present will do (ppm levels will be minimal). Molases is an interesting one - as I understand it the sugar is 'held' by the plant (locked in via osmosis) until used - so yes feeding molases in the last weeks(s) could result in sugars being present that won't be 'converted' as part of curing.

We can strive for better weed but sometimes (not to be too blunt about it) - we get up our own arse making things seem more complicated that it should be.

I have an ongoing challenge to people I know: $100 to anyone who can tell the difference between my organic grown, and my coco with nute grown. Right now I'm 20-0 in my favor......... because there is NOTHING to taste in one that's not in the other! Anyone who takes the time to read and understand how plants take in nutrients and how they use them will see the light.

I've read somewhere that you can use epsom salt when applying only water for the last few times.................................I've fund this statement since my buddy us using AN flawless finish (i use biobizz) and on the bottle the main ingredient is magnesium alongside some ingredient named A..something :D and I wanted to find out what is that flawless finish all about and find out it has mg..and epsom salts have pretty much mg...

any thoughts on this claim guys?!

Well now thats funnier than hell! What's one off the things people think their flushing????? Magnesium...........

If you can't give an adequate answer than don't reply..
We are here to discus not to se who is a smart ass or not.

If you've read on this subject at all, you'd see my point. Get a sense of humor...geez. This subject has been covered ad nauseum.

The basic fact of the story is you can't "flush" anything from a plant, only can only let it starve to death. All those compounds and elements people think they are flushing remain in the buds. Look at a plant someone has "flushed" for 2 weeks. Yes, the plant is pretty much dead. BUT, the buds aren't! The plant knows its dying, its sending everything it can to the buds. And when that plant is chopped and the buds clipped off, guess what? they are still nice and green and alive and FULL of all the stuff you think you flushed.

Look up on how plants transport nutrient from the soil or medium into the roots. Look up how these nutrients are used and or stored. The answers in detail are there. Or at least take the time to read my article on this subject, it touches on the science thsat disproves this.

The reason people believe this bullshit is because someone told them ti works. No one ever explains WHY it works.......... because they have no clue how it supposedly works. Hell, even so called experts still believe it. I've even had people tell me science is wrong.......... . You can believe what you want, I prefer to check the facts, but only science based facts.

If you can't give an adequate answer than don't reply..
