Flushing: The Myth that won't Die

its slow death, just like starving yourself. You ever hear of someone becoming healthy by starving........yeah, use up those stored nutrients......
sir, you are doing a great job! please add me on your list, i can translate ur book into Russian for free, even if you use the translation commercially. this will help even more!

Now having worked my way through this thread my only thought is that one cannot underestimate the use of a good ppm and pH meter. We spend all this money on lights tents soils containers genetics and often just wing it the moment the rubber hits the road. Providing you can nail your PH and solution strengths a good many other variables become less of a factor in plant growth. The laws of Science and Physics are perfect and immutable, our understanding of those laws is however very much flawed. A quote from my father.

Having worked with a great many different plants before coming to this hobby I can attest that most all problems go away when we get the conditions right below the soil line. KISS, and when all other measures fail try doing nothing. Plants do not like riding see saws...

Thank you @Waira for clarifying these terms "flushing" and "cleansing" for all of us. LOL I was reading through @pop22 's article on why flushing is for fools and I kept wondering why I will not understand why it wouldn't make sense with all the science that giving the plants just plain water makes them have to use their extra stored nutrients. Now I know I all this time I have actually been doing cleansing at the end of my grows. Just giving them plain water to the reservoir for couple weeks as they keep drinking it, eventually diluting the solution to mostly water.

It was a good read after I understood what is meant by the term "flushing".

pick your term, your still only starving your plant to death

It's an app that pulls together news from a bunch of different places, you pick the topics. First time I've seen a forum post come up, must be some SEO stuff behind the scenes.

Write the book pop22..we'll serialise it on the front page for you..:headbang:
