When do you start counting day one in flower with autos? I know photos is when you flip to flower and the count starts then…..I think. I am guessing first signs of sex….? Maybe??

The simple answer I will provide is there is no need to count flowering days. Autos will only have a Harvest time expressed in days and this number of days is offered by the breeder.
I get that but some breeders have references from seed and flower. Some say 8 to 9 weeks from seed and some say 8 to 9 from flower or flowering time. Are those all the same?

My answer is, I don't really know when the exact 'beginning' of flower is with autoflowers, and I've been wondering the same thing.
From seed and flowering time are two different things. Flowerig time is used with photos,(since veg time is determined by the grower) and refers to the time it will take the plant to finish after flipping to 12/12
As far as there being no need to count... there are certainly reasons to determine the beginning of flowering.
First and foremost, nutrients. If you have veg and bloom nutes, how do you determine when to switch without identifying the timing of the switch to flower?
Also, and this has been why I'm wondering:
@420autoflower uses the Schwazz technique on a schedule starting two weeks after the beginning of flower. So maybe he can chime in an enlighten us?

most of the grows I have done the ladies show flowers at 2-3 weeks. Then some grow for 120 days.

I use Mega Crop 1 part and I add only some Epson salts. So I do not think about it. There are many ways to grow.

I had some 00seeds that went 140+ days.....but dam good smoke.
Every Lady shine when they are ready. It is best to leave expectations outside the tent and let them grow as they want. We are here to watch and seek out their differences.

I realize all the breeders advertise a start to finish harvest window but IMHO a cannabis plant needs at least 56 days of flowering to be able to produce large dense colas. If a breeder is advertising a 10 week seed to harvest strain and you know your plant was vegging for 4 weeks or more I wouldn’t go off of what the breeder says and instead give your plant about 8 weeks of solid flowering. I gauge my flowering start time when I start seeing pistils and fuzz balls… If I notice an excessive amount of pistils showing at the nodes I’m in preflower and consider that week 1 of flower, then when the little fuzz balls start forming on the tops I’m in the second week of flower. That’s when all the heavy pruning starts and the real work begins for me.
