Hi,

First post here. I’ve lurked for awhile and I’m getting close to my first harvest (Fastbuds Zkittlez auto) thanks to the awesome information provided by everyone here!

I’ve decided to try autopots for my 2nd grow. It will just be 1 plant in a 28”x28”x63” tent inside a closet. I purchased a single autopot module without a reservoir because the autopot 12.4 gallon is too big to easily fit in my space. I’m planning to make a reservoir out of a 5 gallon bucket or similar. Does anyone have suggestions for fittings and/or a valve to adapt to the 1/4” tubing from a bucket? I’m handy and can come up with something but I thought I’d see if anyone had a setup they like. Thanks!

I'm doing the same thing using a larger bin.
Here's the type grommet needed.
Best is to put this valve thru the grommet, then attach a hose to the valve.
Amazon product ASIN B00J9Q2SOMA 3/4 inch drill bit will be needed, but this works too
Amazon product ASIN B000FZ2UOYAnd some 1/2 inch tubing.
Amazon product ASIN B00A8HUV5EI've ordered some of these to connect the 1/2 inch tubing to the 1/4 (od, 1/8 id) inch tubing that attaches to aquavalve.

If you go to home depot you can get a lid for your bucket that screws on. I get my water at windmill vending machine carry a little bag of fertilizer for the 5 gallon of water, and mix as its filling. Lid wont come off and prevents a major mess. I just hook it back in to the feed hose after PH turn the knob back in action.

Looks good! Do you put a small air hole in the lid or something to vent the container?

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much!
I might've led you astray.
I was adapting an already made reservoir that had a drilled 1/2 hose hole.
It should be possible to use the 1/4 inch outside diameter autopot tubing with a 1/4 top hat grommet.

Yep no worries. I’ve never seen an autopot reservoir in person before so I didn’t know about the grommet system they use. Once I saw your post it made sense and I was able to hop onto their website and find the different size valves, tubes and grommets they offer. Will place an order soon with some extras so I have more than one option
