If i get it well, the essence is the next:
LED use lower electric than HPS, and its cooler. if i understand T5 is a new technology. (little quick search)

the light is mixed? thats why enought 1 set?

T5: 216W Fixture 4ft. 4 bulb 54W T5HO bulbs
MH: 1 - 400W MH

The lumen is not too short? I read one of the most important thing. 20000 lum for my 1m2 is not too short?

Check out my photo albums. All plants were grown with T5 HO 8 bulb fixture. For beginners, I highly recommend this type of lighting...

Oh yeah, I just got done with a test grow using both spectrum's. It failed. Must be something with the T5's. But the veg. spectrum produces more for me than the mix spectrum.

Welcome NewHope. I've just been reading your thread and have a questions for you. You are planning to build your box in your attic. What is the temperature range in the attic? If it is uninsulated the temperature of your intake air is going to vary, to what degree depends on where you live. That could be a potential problem and will influence the type of lights you should use.

when you advice T5 and veg. bulbs you mean example like this: T5-HO-54W G5 230V 4000K 5100 lum ?and you told veg bulbs. it means coolwhite? or mixed warm and cool?
if its right you think 6 enought in my box?

good question thanks! the attic means in this time a place INSIDE THE HOUSE. I live in the same airspace. its a increased part of a house, with the same insulation like the place i sleep.
right now its 20.6 C . I think in extremist circumstance 18 C - 30 C. But if its low (18 C) i think the warming can be resolve, but the cooling is difficult. (if i need).

That is very good then.
I agree that you are probably best with either T5 or LED. The HPS, especially a 400 watt, would be hard to keep cool, especially if your house does not have air conditioning. I would also suggest you get a carbon filter right from the start. While some strains do have less odor, they all will smell. I think it is best to build that into your design from the start rather than trying to fit it in later.

i think about it it too, but the first round (lamps, ground, pots, seed, ph, ....) will kill my budget. but if i knew it the smell is just in the last period happen. think in future. good idea.
