First Time Auto Grow , any advice welcome :)

• Germinated 2 seeds paper towel method ( 1 x GSC auto , 1 x unknown bag seed )
• Germinated in dark cupboard at approx 24c
• Will check in the morning

22/10/2020 @ 9:00am

• Seeds not sprouted yet , draw temp approx 24c
• Sprayed lightly with water , will check again in 6-8 hours

@5:00pm

• Checked seeds , GSC has popped , bag seed still dormant . Sprayed lightly with water and will check again in the morning and check wet enough just before bed at approx midnight

• GSC taproot approx 1/2” , bag seed still nothing

• Planted GSC seed @ 11:00am , left bag seed to germinate and also added one more GSC seed to germinate so I can have 2 plants growing at the same time
• Planted using Bio Diesel Max Air Coco Perlite 70-30 Mix into Rhizo Pot Fabric Pot [12L]
• Did not saturate all soil first , tapped pot firmly to settle soil and make it more compact without using too much force
• Planted seed taproot facing down and covered very lightly with soil and sprayed to settle with a spray bottle and tap water
• Put pot in grow tent under MarsHydro TS1000 , set around 18” from top of pot and intensity set to 50% (changed from 75% in the picture) , little fan in text and temp is 25c and humidity 70%

I guess my questions are mostly around the light and watering , is it ok to be only spraying the soil lightly as the seed hasn’t sprouted yet ? Any advice for this first grow would be highly recommended !

I will post more photos as things start happening lol fingers crossed !

sounding all good so far bro id maybe hang the light at 24 to 30 inchs just until you see what the seedling does if she starts going for the sky drop the light or up the power

heya @nard420 and to afn! yup, all a seed, or seedling, needz the first week or so is a light misting of the topsoil 2-3 timez daily great commune here to help ya get dialed in & anything u need, jus give a holler

You look like off to a good start with a tent and a TS1000 light, I just started myself and using the same lights and like them a lot so far

When your bag seed germinates, plant it with taproot (radicle) facing up. I think you'll find it sheds the seed husk easily, while you may have to help remove the GSC husk you planted radicle down. The one planted facing up will do a 180, anchor below seed and the resulting friction when cotyledons emerge will remove husk for you.

Awesome thanks heaps for that ! I lowered the light as soon as I read your response and when I woke up this morning she has popped through the soil !

I'd add to remember not to let the coco dry out completely once the plant is bigger and never use only water (don't treat it as soil, coco is a bit different)... always water with some nutes. Next watering shoud be with low strength nutes.
