glaucoma
it's our choice...
I know we did put a 6 month limit on how long I felt I could go on living
with the pain levels I had..
Sorry to hear that mate, I know where yr coming from and am very glad to hear you have found something to improve yr life. I have put a few time limits on the pain and at times just managed to grit the teeth and go on. Lat month was also 10 years since my one working retina heamoraged (that is some crazy shit - including seeing things upside down) which has meant a decade of no employment, not much sociability and constant, non-stop flashing lights, hallucinations, visiual distortions (on top of just generally bad eyesight limited to one eye), Is coming up to a year that I have been seeing in double vision and other randomness as well due to complications from emergency surgery and especially that 10 year anniversary was scaring the crap out of me - a big part of the decision making to say "well, man made laws can get fcked - Im doing what my doctors tell me to do and what feels right and growing some grass so I dont go blinder any quicker than I have to". Being that I've never driven a car, employment is not happening anymore, etc etc etc dont think society can begrudge me wawnting to save my health even if does have to break a few ridiculous laws...
I get the mood-lift..enjoyment out of satis..
but they do Naff all for my pain..sometime actually seem to increase it..
and..
for Me..
it is ALL about the pain.
same situation here. Satis definetely make me happier and care less about the pain and the eyes than if I had nothing but dont actually do anything for the pain. i think you might also be right about it increasing pain - Ive been sore as hell lately but also been busy in the garden etc which doesnt help so looking forward to some Indica goodness. I think the Indys are better for the eyes as well though I will be trying to find a doctor nearby who is interested in doing some pressure reading experiments with different medications.
people Think you are taking the P when you say a pheno can be too
strong..
Nah, no worries here about seemingly taking the P etc. I am here to learn (as well as enjoy) and share - since we dont all know each others individual backgrounds etc etc is much better to ask or tell like you have than assume and definetely interested in med advice as while Ive smoked a lot of it I am completely new and growing and particularly tailoring for my needs (such as getting a good day/night smoke as you mentioned) so all advice is welcome. Im looking forward to having a few jars to choose from in the future with a bit of this and a bit of that so I can use what best suits situation/what I plan to do with the day - plus some variety would be nice!
Hahaha - no fear on the microwave drying - I ovened a bud once about 15 years ago and havent done since!!
Samples are hanging and Im stoked! Have put the lights back on for all thre girlsand might even put em in the sun today before doing a chop chop tonight or tomorrow after they have a good sleep - prob tonight though as I am keen!
Its not in itself but people with glaucoma usually have a higher rate of immune disease/deficiency which doesnt help and I think they are looking into the exact links. There are a few types of glaucoma - I have Acute Glaucoma (and a pretty severe case off it). It is fairly common to get if have a history of cataracts, surgeries etc etc etc but being that I was 18months old when had cataract ops (rather than much older which is the norm) Ive had/got a long-time to experience the many and varied side-effects. Being down to minimal sight in one eye I cant afford to lose much more so thank goodness the canna helps drop the pressures cause mine get ridiculously high and in my case elevated pressure not only leads to loss of vision associated with normal glaucoma but causes my retina to heamorage which again is not something Id wish on my worse enemy.BTW..is glaucoma classed as an Immune disease..?
Anyway - today is a good day as I can start doing more to help myself and even if the law doesnt agree in principal I know have family on side which is much more meaningful than the law.

ACUTE GLAUCOMA
Unlike POAG (Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma), where the IOP increases slowly, in acute angle-closure, it increases suddenly. This sudden rise in pressure can occur within a matter of hours and become very painful. If the pressure rises high enough, the pain may become so intense that it can cause nausea and vomiting.
The eye becomes red, the cornea swells and clouds, and the patient may see haloes around lights and experience blurred vision.
An acute attack is an emergency condition. If treatment is delayed, eyesight can be permanently destroyed. Scarring of the trabecular meshwork may occur and result in chronic glaucoma, which is much more difficult to control. Cataracts may also develop. Damage to the optic nerve may occur quickly and cause permanently impaired vision.
