You cannot overwater in coco ... if you are pure coco / coco and perlite - IMO water twice a day. There is so much space - there is no risk of drowning.
Manually - water around plant. If seedling till first sign of water run off. I use a syringe and water in concentric circles. Help the roots look outwards. Once two/three nodes water to 20% run off.
You cannot feck up in coco unless you add too many Nutes. Read your leaves closely. Minimum of 1/3 of manufacture estimates.
Airpots / self pruning is a must, again IMO. E
You cannot do coco IMO without EC and pH meters. It is a very reactive medium - you need accuracy.
I prefer to use an irrigation pump and water 1 x 15 sec per 2hr as seedling. 1 x 22 sec in veg. 1 x 30 sec in flower.
I only grow 4 plants - but they consume
> 15l per day.
I use an air pump in a reservoir to ensure max O2 gets to the roots.
I have a diy auto drain to waste to get the 20% excess off. The above is a total ball ache to do manually.
For the record, an air stone is also a massive fecker ... it shifts your ph of your nutrients by +2 per day. I had to use a peristaltic pump and ph controller... stoned rambling ... hold off on air stone
See my diary for how to on drainage system.
