Hey all, first post and first time grower (of anything). I've been lurking this forum for a little while, seems like cool peeps and a super positive community. Hope I can contribute once I learn and get some successful grows under my belt.

I'm in SoCal, planning on legally growing autos indoor with a 24"x24"x55" tent. I've ordered the tent, a Kingbrite 125w (actual) QB288 3500k w/ 660nm, TerraBloom EMCF-100 4" inline fan and a G HYDRO updated 4" carbon filter. I've learned to pay once, cry once, so I'm trying to start with updated tech and decent equipment. Ordered a mix of auto feminized seeds from WWSB, mainly 2:1 or 1:1 strains with a couple of normal popular indicas thrown in. Planning on growing 2 plants at a time in 4 gallon fabric pots (Smart Pot knockoffs, listed as 5g but based on measurements provided the actual size will be 3.8g). Also ordered misc. stuff like 6" clip fans and timers, just need to get a temp/humidity monitor and possibly a PH pen, but I'm trying to keep things natural, organic, and as KISS as possible.

I've been researching organic soils/potting mixes for weeks and it seems like a lot of the recommendations are based on "bro science" or things people have heard. I'm trying to do a store-bought organic soil mixture comprising of 2 different mixes of soil and 1 part perlite. From my research and my plan to stay as organic as possible, I'm thinking 1 part Recipe 420 by EB Stone (good ingredients and made in CA), 1 part Fox Farms Ocean Forest (needs no introduction), and 1 part washed coarse perlite (Vigoro brand frome Home Depot). I'm hoping the Recipe 420 and perlite will make the FFOF less hot as i'm planning on planting and germinating the seeds directly into the 4g pots. Planning on using only 24 hour tap water for watering, no RO or DI. As this will be my 1st grow, I'm also planning on letting the plants grow naturally with no training.

For nutes, I'm trying to stay away from them and synthetic bottled nutes specifically, but will add if the plants show signs of deficiencies. From what I read, I may need Cal Mag or dolomite lime because I'm growing with LEDs, but I'm not sure what would be better. I also heard Mega Crop is a good all-in-one, not organic but apparently doesn't kill the microbes in the organic soil. If these are not needed, then maybe just a earthworm casting tea as a booster when needed?

TL;DR - Would the Recipe 420/FFOF/Perlite mixture soil work for my setup? Any recommendations on organic or KISS nutes if needed?
