New Grower First grow. looking for some help along the way

They are defintly looking healthy 1guy. They do seem a little bit short but that may just be the strain. I think rasing your light will help for sure, I might even raise it another 6" to ensure that they strech a little. Also have they shown sex yet? I have been reading a lot about the pre-flower stretch where plants grow a lot in the few weeks leading up to full bloom. So I would say that they are going to get bigger, but from the looks of it it will be a bushy lady with a lot of side branching and budsites, this is a very desirable trait for a lot of folks becuase the yeilds are great and the plant doesnt have to get 5 or 6 feet tall to get them. I think you are doing a great job! Keep it up and the ladies will reward you for sure

Hi mate, mayby invest in some ph- (i use Plagron Lemon kick), from my knowledge water with vinegar keeps lower ph only for 12 hours than go back to previous level,

Thanks for the good vibes. I ordered some advanced nutrients pH down. I have noticed that the spray bottle I use for my seedlings needs to be adjusted every time I use it after I bring it down using vinegar. I also raised my lights to about 30 inches. I am going to just run my leds for a day or so before I turn the cfls back on.

:smoke:

I have had some growth the last few days. They are still very short for their age (22 days). They seem healthily though. I moved my lights up to about 24 inches and I have only been running my side light cfls about 12 hours a day. LEDs are running 20/4. I started a 4th seed and it sprouted about 4 days ago. I am assuming I can just stick it under the LEDS with the other three. I changed my soil mix up for this one and I am hoping it solves some of my PH problems. I basically used my old mix, with equal parts coca and added some soil acidifier.

My soil runs about 7.5ph and I have been pHing water with nutes and/or vinegar to about 6 and the runoff has been at 6.7pH. My tap water is 8.2 pH. I am worried my buds will taste like vinegar. :). I have to use about 5ml of vinegar plus nutes per gallon to get it to 6pH. I have only been watering twice a week. Watering with nutes every other time. Should I water more often with less volume to keep the soil at a lower ph or just kep doing what I am doing.

Also, I am adding small amounts of cal/mag 1-3 ml per gallon at every watering. Should I only use it with my other nutes?

Just as a precaution, you might wanna monitor closely for CalMag issues, as 1-3 ml per gal is a bit low.

They look great to me 1Guy. I abused the plant in my first grow. I still got 2 oz off of the 4 plants that grew buds. Once you're past this first one it will get a lot easier. I'm on #3 and things have gotten better and I don't worry as much. Peace

Amen to that. I'm in about the same situation. I think one of the biggest things I've learned so far is how to navigate this site. To use the many resources available. The expert guidance from pros has always steered me right, but there comes a time for every student to solo so I find myself asking fewer questions as I look for the answers first and usually find them.

2 0zs! That will seem like 2lbs to me. :) I am already looking forward to my second grow. I ordered some mephisto seeds two days ago. A 3 pack mix, 2 sour cracks, and a couple of freebie photos. I also have been researching local nurseries and looking for a good "tomato" soil mix. One mistake I have made is trying to control Ph with vinegar. I have some PH down on the way as well. I think that will help a lot as my soil ph now is always around 7.5 except right after I water.

You could add a very small amount of sulfer..natural soil acidifier to get it naturally down to 6.5 area. I have not needed to use it. So, Im not sure how much to use.

I did some very light LST tonight. One cord at base of the plant and one cord lightly pulling at the top the opposite direction. I am hoping in the next few days they want to be pulled over a little more. I tried to pull them over on the sides that had the most under growth.
