Grow Mediums First Grow - Hydro/DWC Training SCROG w/ Bagseed Photos

Damn go away for a bit and it all goes to pot, literally!!
i hear you about the give and take on the threads. Sometimes I think I am just talking to myself. I gave up on feeling odd about it. I just keep posting, if only for my own amusement. I like the record it makes too though.
if you need assistance, don't forget the help line thread. I know folks here are working hard to get answers for folks as quickly as they can.

Now let's see what you got growing. What a beast she is!! Really running you ragged I bet. It's just crazy the growth spurts she keeps having. Bet she produces a large amount!
nicely done

It looks like the buds are just starting to from, have patience and just keep feeding this ugly sister and she will reward you!

Soylent (One of my fav flix of all time!)
(Remember, she's photo) Buds popped on day 16 (now day 46) and set most of what's there in the first 1-2 weeks Then she went pretty well static for 2 weeks now with very little activity...or so I thought! Until I changed the res and noticed the roots had filled the bucket in a single week! It's hard to know what's normal (expected?) in DWC. What I DIDN'T expect was that she stretched hard, then set blooms, then everything stopped while she filled the bucket with roots for a week, now stretching again.
:dunno:

World Wide Willie! See? It happens every time! Turn your back for a sec and everything DOES go to pot!! My money, my time, my BEDROOM!!! LOL!!! Brother, ragged is not the word! I'm busier than a one legged man at an ass kickin' contest trying to keep up! She's now going through 2 gallons of pH'd RO water a day. One gallon each time, morning and night! I'm buying 15 gallons a week, now. Hell, I got empty jugs everywhere!
:fire:

I feel you about the posting. I'm just spazzing a bit. I just didn't think the SOS area was right for this little issue. Just needed some experienced advice from those who "been there done that". I've seen a lot of weird shit in several years in commercial horticulture, but that was soil and different from this gig. A whole different mindset it seems. One's assumptions and expectations must be thrown out and then relearn the new way and I get overloaded spending hours researching what's going on with Miz Dubya. Too many logs and no info that fits the bill. Just need a little "oh, that's to be expected" or "that's some weird shit!" from the already initiated in DWC to kinda direct me to action or apathy (fuck it, let's burn one!). <pauses for a hit off "The Box">

Thanks Guys for the replies! :tiphat:
I'll probably PM DWCocha later and get him to take a peek also.

Hey TX dude ,its a strange one for sure ... you have done an amazing job keeping a random bagseed so happy for so long & hope she finishes good for ya man . I think Soylent nailed it bro , its prob the genetics .A bag seed ,even one that got named & loved & a thread in her honer is still a bagseed . You can without a doubt grow DWC TX but the seed was never that great IMO ? If you get some decent beans for the next run im sure you will kill it.

I have a 110 day old super auto in a NFT 205gt tank & its only just starting to bud up like miz dubya is ?... had to give it to a friend as its taking over the tent & will prob take another 6 weeks to finish.

I would get some PK boost in there & half strength for 2 weeks ... but maybe let the buds fatten up a bit first ?.

DW, Thanks for popping in!
I agree, she's definitely weird, but it's good training for those things to come. Thanks for the kudos, I appreciate it!

I was really hoping she would go ahead and "get 'r done", but now we're stretching again. Not much room left in the tent and if I have to cut or supercrop the top, she's gonna take that much longer to finish. I need the smoke and I have a new "grow project" I've been asked to assist with, so I wish she would hurry up. I've got some GH KoolBloom on the way along with more GH Bloom (running out fast). Should be here in the next couple of days.

She's got a ton of nice nuggets all over that are in great shape, but the tops won't thicken up (just stretch). The frost is just now starting to come on, so hopefully it won't be much longer. I'm wondering if because I wasn't quite keeping up on the water if she could be "stress cycling". The water levels in the bucket were bottoming out during the day from her needing so much. I've got a grip on it now by running her water levels at the higher 6" net pot marker instead of the lower for 10". By this afternoon, she'll have drank 75% of what's in the bucket. I've added a gallon this morning and she'll want at least that, if not more, this afternoon. I'm now keeping up with her pattern. I might add another bubbler to increase the O2 levels to compensate for the reduced root exposure or start supplementing H2O2 in the mix for the extra oxygen.

Damn! I need an RO system!! I got empty water jugs everywhere!

Put her in the dark for a day or two, that should trip her trigger.

Hey Pop!

I did that when I first flipped the cycle to get her kick started and she's done pretty good since. Do you think she's confused? Blackout conditions in the tent have been adhered to during the dark cycle. I run 7a-7p which gives me very little time with her during the week, but works great in the tent. Would doing it again help? I don't know. I've got better buds at the inside bottom of the plant than at the tops. Hell, I could start trimming (not really!)! Very stinky pine resin with a garlicky skunky tone. Rub some under my nose like Vick's Vapor Rub so I can smell it all day!

It couldn't hurt. It maybe what she needs to say " ohh yeaa I'm suppose to be in flower"....lol! Maybe be even cut her to 11 or 11 1/2 hours. I've read some plants don't always trip on the 12/12 cycle.

UPDATE 04/03/14
Early PM
DAY 112
BLOOM DAY 49

78 DEG 52%
5.9 pH 1170 ppm

THE SEARCH FOR MIZ DUBYA
(We've gone Bushy!)

Still very slow. A little stretching and very little bloom setting; at least not noticeably. She slowed down on water and she's not taken a nute in 2-3 days. Roots are fine and the res is good. I finally got my KoolBloom in so I went ahead and added 20 ml to the mix. I went ahead and pulled the plug on the lighting for a day or two to see if I can give her a kick out of this confused state she's in.

I don't know. Have to wait and see.

Good Luck! And I'll be watching, 'cause that naughty girl goin to get hers one day soon.....LOL! :Sharing One:

Clueless...

UPDATE 04/07/14
Early PM
DAY 116
BLOOM DAY 53

77 DEG 45%
5.9 pH 1300 ppm

THE SEARCH FOR MIZ DUBYA
(We've gone Bushy!)

Bushy hell! It's a damned shrubbery!

Still stretching (stretch #2) and growing 6"+ of new limbs, but no new flowers. I have no clue WHAT the hell she's doing! She's now 6" from the top of a 7' tent! I'm getting to the point of considering this whole fiasco a loss and starting over. She's full of lovely buds down low that will not finish and all the tops still look like a spikey cactus with onsey-twosy buds here and there (the spikes of the cactus!).

Again I have no clue what's going on. The last regular feed was a week or so ago with the exception of adding KoolBloom and calmag a few days ago. After the SECOND 48 hour forced dark cycle, she's starting to use water again, but not at the rate she was previously and very little nutes at all yet (150 ppm). All the fan leaves show the speckling of an old potassium deficiency, but not progressing and is not what's causing her to grow like she has. The pH is solid and the roots are in good shape.

I have no clue what is going on here. A blooming reset??? (pun intended )
