New Grower First grow, humbolt caramel cream (8-3-22)

For all three of my 54/55 day old plants, a decent number of pistils turned orange, especially the tips, just a week or so after the pompoms started to form after the end of the stretch.
Ok so that must just be whats happening here. I just wanted to make sure I didnt mess something up somewhere. I cant wait to see this thing bulk up

So I make it a habit to check things out shortly after lights on and before lights off on my days off. Probably not necessary but I like poking my head in there.
Now question, How soon after flowering do pistils start turning red? One of the buds has 1 solid red pistil thats shriveled up a bit already and another turning red. Its not in the pictures here but some of the ones too big to upload show spots of red in another pistil close to the one thats red already. Is this normal? Im assuming yes but I was a dumbass the other day and accidentally left my light on 10% power after taking pics. It was for about 4 hours. But im assuming that wouldnt hurt.
It can happen for a number of reasons. Too much wind, too much light, accidently bumping into the bud and smooshing it. Worst case it means it's pollinated but I highly doubt that's it. Probably nothing much to worry about

I mean I hope its not pollenated lol. I have been messing with that bud in particular because its just got the perfect lighting for the macro shots I like to take.

Flowering day 19
So looks like buds almost doubled in size over the day today. Not quite doubled but they look a lot bigger than yesterday. Got home a little late so I wont be doing the slurry test I talked about in the live chat. Itll be lights out before the slurry is ready to be tested. Thinking shes ok though. Most leaves are praying to the bud gods. New growth is super green thanks to the back to back feedings. Also looks like everything developed a thicker coating of trichomes. Sugar leaves surrounding the bud sites are almost completely coated now.

Flowering day 20
Wasnt feeling up to getting some good pics in yesterday. Whatever bug I had was making me feel extremely sick every time I exerted myself at all and bending over the plant trying to get some good pics with the chills and an upset stomach was not my idea of a good time
With that said I did notice yesterday that some leaves tips on the new growth were starting to turn yellow, not concerned, maybe I over watered a tad the past few days. I did do a 2 gallon flush and then water an entire gallon within the next 36 hours then topped it off with another half gallon late thursday all full feeds too so Im hoping I didnt over feed.
Didnt do anything yesterday but remoisten then top few inches of soil with plain water and did some lollipopping defoliation. Probably not gonna do anything else and just let her finish even though some of the lower budsite are a little covered up by the fan leaves in the middle.

I can relate to trying to keep the journal up to date while being sick. Definitely never easy or fun. Hope you get to feeling better soon man! :d5:

Flowering day 21
So 39 more days on average to go. Feeling a lot better than yesterday. Snapped some new pics and plant is looking good in my opinion. Definitely having some kind of issues now the newer fan leaves around the buds are yellowing on the tips but otherwise its looking phenomenal.

1 branch in particular is looking extra good. Thats the one at the very front bottom super green leaves almost standing straight up at the top. All the others have some yellowing or faded green to them. Buds are a bit yellowish green too. Thinking of feeding again today because the soil is almost dry but I fed 2 times this week already. I might just water and call it for today

This is the good looking one up close nice lush even green throughout and all the way down to the lowest leaves I left.

Got home today to notice a lot of my fan leaves that came in after the flip to 12/12 are starting to get that yellowing fade around the edges. Im starting to think maybe too much food.
Pot was dry so I watered heavily with plain water, amd a half dose of sledgehammer to add some yucca to the soil again, the prewater didnt wanna sink in again. Total she got 1.5 gal and I topped her off with .25 with a full boomerang feed just to have the n-p-k and some secondary nutes incase I flushed out too much.

This is that yellowing I mentioned, yesterday it looked a lot better. Its also possible she getting a touch too much light because all the lower branches that never caught up with the rest of the canopy are still looking pretty good. Leaving the light tho, its been where its at as for as dimming since the 2nd week of flowering. If anything I'll raise it 4" and see if that helps.
Shes getting about 950ppfd dead center and about 800-850 around the edges of the canopy according to the phone app. Might be reading low though with the door slightly open.

I think almost a month in its gonna be some pretty good smoke. Felt a lot of the colas and they are pretty firm, sticky as all hell already too. Im just hoping she fattens up and I get some weight. Either way though best hobby, hands down

This will probably be a 2 part update today. Just finished my chores I wanted to do today so I checked out the tent right away in case I wanted/needed to do anything and I did.
Did a little more defoliation on the lower half of the plant. Raised the light about 5" to give a little more even distribution of light now the whole canopy is averaging about 875ppfd and 925 in the center. Not so drastic of a drop off on the way out from the center anymore.

Pretty much dropped everything under the net. Giving her a little more water before I close everything back up.

Awesome turnaround. The lollipop looks clean and whatever you're doing with watering and nutes seems to be working because she looks way healthier than before. Looking at your buds compared to my Sour Stomper, I'm sure you're going to have insanely frosty thicc buds in the coming weeks. It will be a glorious smoke!
