New Grower First Grow: Flash Purple Mazar & 1 Seedsmans Northern Lights Fem Auto

Hello all, I'm Savoy.

I've been prowling around this site for a while now, and it is time to grow!
Since I found the grow journals of others so helpful in my research, its only fair if I make my own contribution.

My goal is to make a detailed account of my first grow with good photos and grammar (hopefully its not annoying to update frequently).

Any and all input/advice/criticism is encouraged.

I'll post pics later today, I'm at work and bored so I figured I knock out the text details now, then the pics when I'm high later.

The breakdown:

4 Flash Seeds Purple Mazars regular
1 Seedsman Northern Lights Auto Fem (freebie)
Soil: OF
Fox Farms nute trio
2 gallon pots (estimated)
180 watts of 65k cfls (4 45 watt bulbs)
220 watts of 27k cfls (4 42 watts on top, 2 26 watt on sides)
80 cfm 2.5 sones (quiet enough) bathroom fan
6 2" passive intakes
Venting up my chimney via an unused duct
I made a 3 gallon air stone rig for water (thanks fullduplex)

I think that about covers the details.

Germination:
I put the 5 seeds in phed water for 4 hours or so then direct to soil in 18oz party cups with plenty of holes. I filled them up with a 2/1 mix of soil and perlite poured phed water until I got a dribble of runoff. Waited 15 minutes, made 1/2" holes and put the seeds in sideways with tweezers covered lightly with dry soil. Put them in the dark cabinet (no bags or domes).

Sprouts:
48 hours later the NL and 2 PMs had sprouted. 48 hours later the remaining 2 PMs are up and out. They are currently sitting 2" away from 84 watts of 65k on 20/4 (I'm doing that light regime for the duration) and doing fine.

I guess this puts me roughly on day 2-ish.

If there's anyone on this site familiar with flash seeds (nudge nudge) I'm having a hard time finding grow cycle/yield/height details on the purple mazars. Also for the Northern lights if the seedsman variety auto more reliably than the nirvana. Any info would be awesome.

kool I just started 5 Purple Mazars myself about the same time. I will follow along for your grow. Those are some big pots for your area. I have a 4' x 2' x 2' myself and have been really happy with using 3L air pots for most of the smaller strains with good results. It will be good to see the difference in pot sizes and how they do.

Purple Mazar auto seeds
Here is the famous Mazar Afghani reworked as an autoflower strain but in purple style. Purple Mazar will turn a dark purple color when flowering and gives off a sweet fruity smell. It has a relaxing effect, a long lasting buzz and is great for relaxation.
Type: Autoflowering
Heigh: 60 : 120 cm
Time to harvest: 70 / 75 days from seed
Yield: 25 / 45 gr per plant

I think stitch usually recommends like 18/6 on the light cycle but I could be wrong. Maybe he will chime in.

Wow that was fast. Awesome man good to have you on board, hopefully we'll both benefit. My pots are tall and square, 7.75 x 7.75 x 9, I could jam 8 in there if I had to, but 5 is comfortable. A volume converter tells me they're 2.3 liquid gallons, not bad for the footprint!

as for you hoping frequent updates not annoying - not at all - is great to see all the stages as I've got a lot to learn - even if each update doesn't get a heap of replies keep updating as we will be following along

Thanks! I'm excited, I was 0/10 with some old LR2 seeds which wasted like 3 or 4 weeks. I'm chomping at the bit with round 2. The cups felt light today so they all got some water, no run off, just a good sip. The yellow sprout looks slightly greener (at least that's what I'm telling myself).

All is well except this yellow sprout. Any ideas? Maybe its the runt.
