Hi All!
I started my grow on Jan 15th, sprouted 4 out of 5.
Had two short, bushy phenos with fat leaves and two lanky tall phenos with skinny leaves.
Planted directly in MG moisture control.
Lit using a 336 watt, 4 foot aquarium LED (using 3.5 watt blue and 3.5 watt white Cree LEDs.)
At 27 days, I was adjusting the LED (this thing weighs about 35 lbs...) and accidently dropped the damn fixture right on top of the plants. Ended up topping the two tall phenos at about the third node -- they were crushed and the stem broke completely through.) I thought they were just going to curl up and die... But I decided to see what would happen. They came back REALLY STRONG, and now at 50 days you can't even tell they were topped (unless you look for the stumps... )
After about 30 days, added a second 336 watt, 4 foot aquarium LED.
Now, I know the aquarium lights really aren't very efficient for growing (the spectrum is wayyy blue...) but the plants seem to really like it. I measure about 1500 umol / m2/ s at about 2" from the lights, but an acceptable 300+ umol/m2/s over a 4' x 4' area under the lights. So I think I have plenty of lighting for my 4' x 2' shelf.
Going to update with photos as soon as I can figure out how to put 'em here.
