New Grower First Grow! - Fast Buds: Cream Cookies

:pop: looking great so far. I envy your nutes, got nothing here except biobizz grow n bloom. They grow slow with that and lightmix. The extras make a huge difference. Keep it up  :toke:

Cheers man! And to be fair, that is all you need! This plant has barely had any nutes you know, I've only given her 1/8th strength grow nutes after burning some tips using 1/4 doseage... she is just not a hungry plant at all.

Short of that, she's had two feedings of Alg-A-Mic (1ml per litre, started last week).

The only other thing she's had is their Root Juice, and I really do think it helped with the amount of growth I've seen. My medium was pre-soaked in Root Juice (4ml per litre) prior to germination, she was misted with it (top soil), and the first two weeks she was given it too at 2ml per litre; I stopped using it at about week 3. It's hard to compare against a grow without using it, but I'd definitely recommend picking up a 250ml bottle of it, as that will last you ages!

Cheers Frank  what I've not seen from mine is that boost that you see in the good grows around halfway through flower. I think it's top max that should give you that power?? Or maybe bio heaven, not really sure! I'm checking now to see if clonex can be made into a root boost solution :smoking:

I've heard not so great things about Top Max (I own it but never used it - some say it affects the taste but that's a bit subjective for my liking - I'm going to throw it into this grow at some point - probably when she's properly flowering (a week or two)). On the other hand, I have heard great things about Bio Heaven (I don't own that as I winced at the price lol).

Day 38 (changing to since sprout!)

Not posted an update for a couple of days. Last night I noticed a bit of a deficiency on the lower leaves.

As it's on the very first leaves, I've concluded that the plant is taking the mobile nutrients from the lower leaves to feed the buds (thanks @Proph and others!). This makes sense due to me not feeding very aggressively (1/8th strength recently), As such, she's been given her first half strength doseage, and first taste of bloom nutes (she was given 1 litre of water):

1.5ml BioBizz Grow
1ml BioBizz Bloom
1ml Alg-A-Mic
0.2ml CalMag

Here's how she's looking tonight. The yellowing has got a little bit worse, but I expected it to as the plant plays catch up for a day or two. After speaking with BioBizz themselves, the organic nutes I am using make 30% available immediately, and the remaining 70% are available between 1-3 days later, so I expect the yellowing to slow, but not stop entirely... just yet!

As much as I tried (and failed) to break apical dominance on that top cola, I think it's destined for the moon.

Day 45

So it's been a week since my last update, which was through choice (I wanted to get this yellowing under control). Last week I mentioned I was battling yellowing lower growth, and as much as I'd love to say I'd fixed it, I don't think I have! In the last week, she's had 4 feedings, three at half strength, and 1 at full strength, and there is no sign of new nute burn, and I think the issue has slowed, so she's most likely hungry due to stretch.

The last feed, earlier today, I wanted to make sure she was 100% not being overfed, so I watered with plain PH (6.4) tap water with 0.8ml CalMag per litre.

After a week of researching, my gut tells me that she is being underfed, and that I need to continue with these full strength feeds from now on, perhaps in the manner of feed - feed - water. It's hard to see what's working and what isn't straight away when using non-synthetic nutes, as it takes a while for most of my nutrients to become available to the plant.

However, that said, short of the yellow leaves at the bottom, I think she's looking alright! Also starting to see the frost creeping in on top sugar leaves :smoking:

What are your thoughts on the yellowing leaves? Anything to worry about, or should I just keep her chugging along? Only the bottom leaves are suffering, but some of them are pretty yellow at this point, and I don't want to run out of fan leaves!

for your first grow well done also a super detailed journal and she looks in great shape also you will lose lower leaves as there not getting much light and i just remove them

Cheers for the encouragement, it's good to know I'm doing alright as sometimes I do feel as though I'm winging it, despite the countless days of research lol. Ah, so I could be fighting a losing battle with them? The only reason I didn't snip them is that it was progressively moving up the plant from the bottom, so I was almost certain it was feeding on itself. Would you still snip if that's the case, or just up the strength of feeds and only snip them when they become really damaged?

And thanks very much for the rep!!:biggrin:

For sure, I'll bear that in mind, cheers! Man O Green gave me some solid advice and a top effort post when I posted in the infirmary (which I took on board) and upped the strength to the recommended dosage for week 5 (after a few cautious half strength feedings). Seemed to slow the issue down (although not sure if it was placebo lol), so I might just need to give the organic nutes a little more time to do their thing.
