New Grower First grow ever. Will keep updated regularly. Feel free to tag along

@Wawashell I got curious as to why the other widow hadn't popped yet and I dug a little to find she was growing downwards and had already lost her shell. It was burned bad from the soil and the prenutes. It looked like the stem had snapped as well, the two first leaves and stem we're like neon yellow. Not good. Sooooo you are getting your wish. I'm germinating a zkittles seeds starting tonight to take it's place. So I'll be running two widows that are doing alright and then this zkittles which I will start in a few days when it's cracked

Pretty Cool Seedsman hooked ya up and y’all had good relations back and forth. Definitely tag me when ya do the Zkittles, I am going to get this strain one day, lol.
Another good company is Mephisto Genetics. 98% of my auto collection/ seed hoarding :haha: are from them. Just recently ventured into Magic’s Strains. And have not had a bad customer service between either of them.
I have zkittlez from seedsman that I'll be growing outdoor this summer. About a month before I can pop them. Early June. I'll definitely make a thread for that grow. 12 plants, 6 strains.... I can't wait.

Happy growing mate! I will follow along too!

There are free light meters on app stores you can use to get an idea of the light intensity.
I run my RH at 70% for the the first 2 weeks i will go to 65% in 2 days. They are all happy and healthy, but don't take it from me iam on my first grow as well!

Not good for tha Widow, but pretty cool about the Zkittles. Flush the soil a little to get some of the nutes diluted down in the soil if possible hot soil. I like soil and will eventually get back to soil and go organic. But I have a bunch of nutes left and really don’t want to pour them out yet. I have both Remo Nutrients and Cyco Platinum Series, so currently and for maybe another year run coco and DWC (every now and again).
This might also help or at least a helpful hint. When watering in soil (coco also) do not always pour on seedling after she breaks soil. Every other or third watering, start getting further and further away from seedling. That will help promote the roots to spread out faster, big root system bigger plants.
A lot of growing cannabis is experimenting/ trial and error. Have fun with it. Don’t get discouraged or beat ur self up. The errors we make help us grow as growers.

Another possibility, but was she buried a little deep, did notice ya said had to dig a little. Even if ya do as the packaging said and buried her to the right depth, but sometimes the seed will sink or settle so to speak from watering the freshly potted soil/ medium (this is pretty common and 1 I make often). Plant the seed/ seedling closer to the surface and try and compensate for the soil/ medium settling.

Yeah this must be a newer auto for seedsman because they don't have any grows up on their site yet. I hope it turns out well. It supposedly has a better yield then the widows so fingers crossed they are decent.

Glad to have you along for the ride. I don't know much about the lux, just been going off par recommendations, but where I have my lights I'm hitting 13k lux at my seedlings. I don't know if this is too much, or if you have some info on lux measurements for different heights. Send me a link to your grow and I'll check yours out because you are a little ahead of me and I'll watch out for any warning signs you throw out there

I will try to go a little shallower with the zkittles. I only went about 1/4in deep with a tiny little hole in prewatered soil so it wouldn't settle down too far. I will try going less than that with the zkittles. This seed had the tiniest of root tails so I maybe should have left her germinating for a day longer. The others had about 3/4in root tail and 1/2 in root tail. This one may have just been a dud because the root tail was barely coming out, or I jumped the gun with planting. Either way... You live and you learn!

Daily update...

~Temp 79°F, it spiked a bit and I got the notification that it was sitting at 82°f in the tent so I turned up my exhaust fan and it's now stable back at ~79°f
~RH 60%, I am going to throw a humidifier in there in a little bit to get her back up to 75% or so
-Light distance 32in from seedlings
-no water yet today because the circle of watering from yesterday is still moist on surface.

Quick edit.... I really need that humidifier in there now, I didn't think about the increased inline fan speed pulling more moisture out of the tent. It's dropped to 48% rh. Will get to that soon

First true set of leaves is coming in on both of the babes that survived.

Kind hard to see but in the first photo of the third widow you can see where the stem is cut and I think she is a goner. I'll keep her in there until the zkittles is done germinating to see if miraculously she survives, but I'm highly skeptical. I'll update later today if there is anything else I can think of

Little update and question for you all. So one of my widows first leaves, the cyclodin? I think that's how you spell it looks a little yellowish from the tip and there is a little pin hole in it.

Is this normal? If not, what can I do to make sure I'm not hurting them? The other widow looks great and is all perked up and sitting pretty. This one is a little slouchy. Maybe I overwatered them a bit yesterday? I gave them 250ml RO water cause they were almost dry on surface. I took the advice and watered a little wider, and not right down the stem so that the roots start spreading. The outside layers of soil are still bone dry at this point, but these guys are still tiny so they don't need the full bag watered yet. I truly don't know when the roots are going to be spreading out to the edges of the bag, so does anyone have a recommendation for when I need to start watering out to the edges? I was planning on waiting til the second set of leaves comes in. Hopefully soon. I can see that it's starting to produce little ones inside of the first true set of leaves.

Light is still at 32 in from yesterday. This seems to be alright at this moment but I was wondering if it was a little too close for this one. They are not stretching like crazy which is what I want, I don't want that little chicken leg plant if you know what I mean!

Most likely over watering. At that stage they need hardly any actual water as they use their leaves to intake moisture as the roots grow in search of it. All a seedling needs is light and humidity to grow.

Source: Me, a habitual over-waterer. Lol
