New Grower First grow Auto #1 Hempy Bucket

Thanks for the advice. I’m confused on how to bottom feed with a hempy. I thought I was to top feed until 30% runoff to “change” the res and add new water/nutes.
well with a perlite hempy. maybe. but the soil on top makes it something rather foreign to hempy growers. i did a ton of digging when i tried it this way. could not find hardly anything on it.

you are in for a crash course of learning my friend.

ph of soil needs to be higher than hydro. so plants will react differently with this set up. huge pain in the ass with very sensitive plants.

i use the round oil pans with fabric pots for bottom feeding now .

if you can find a good neutral balance with ph and a solid perlite/soil ratio i do know that this way CAN produce large plants. is fun. and stressful.

not hard to get same results using straight coco coir. and its much easier. i am going to try a full perlite run soon. and see which of the three i find to be the easy way to grow.

and i hope you have a ppm and ph meter. otherwise the headaches will get serious. good luck man. im excited.

Oh ok I gotcha now. I didn’t think of that when I added the soil to the top. I didn’t add a lot maybe 1/2 inch. Just to hide the roots from the light.
dont let me deter you any though. my very first grow i decided to be wild and toss this idea together and was successful. very.
but it was a lot of work in research and proper ph equipment. spent much time in the infirmary with a few of the plant geniuses here and learned sooo much doing this.

so if you can get it down and get a solid harvest. your grow game will be much stronger for all future grows in any fashion. not sure where you got the soil top idea. but i applaud you for gung hoing on this my man.
welcome to the thunder dome lol.

oh. and lst the absolute mess out of the girls early and often. because when they blow up. they will blow up!.

Day 23. Water/feed tomorrow. Thanks for all the input guys!
