New Grower First Grow - 4 different plants

Thanks bud! They are now definitely filling my tent wall-to-wall but I've managed to keep the tops pretty flat. I have a feeling that the bubblegum will go two weeks before the others so I'll have two weeks of a little more space for light.

@kraigseder great looking grow bro!!! I'm about to start my first grow and will be using the exact same size tent as you (is yours the GrowLab 80?) and was wondering what techniques you've been using to keep the tops flat? LST? Scrog? I'm nervous about my plants getting to tall, although I am planning on using strains that are known to not grow to tall. Thanks for your help!!

@Mia WallaceThank you very much. I'm pretty excited since this is my first grow. My tent is honestly a cheap 32 x 32 x 63 "Best ChoiceProducts" tent from Amazon.

I just started LST with wire ties as soon as there were shoots to start pulling over. I kept my 2 Mars Hydro LEDs at 24"+ until they were about 4" high then started lowering them to 18" during veg to keep my node spacing tight. Once in flower I've dropped the lights to 12".

As soon as a new shoot is large enough to tie just start pulling it to an empty area. If you get any branches starting to reach up tie it down some more. It's worked great for me. I have 11 cola like buds from my bubblegum alone, not counting dense nugs, just from LST. I have trimmed some of the lower popcorn buds and lower leaves that weren't getting any light. I also did trim some large fan leaves that were blocking a lot of light to lower bud sites.

Very dense buds filling in.

It's been smooth sailing until a few days ago. I'm starting to notice spots that look like a calcium deficiency but I've given them CALiMAGic the past two waterings. 3 days ago I gave 1 tsp Big Bloom, 1 tsp Tiger Bloom and 1 tsp CalMag per gallon of pH 6.5 water. Some of the pots didn't feel super light but they took 3/4 of a gallon in a 5 gallon pot before there was a little run off. This morning I saw the spots and discoloration looked a little worse so I have them pH 6.5 water with 1 tsp CalMag.

Since could I be blocking the CalMag by slightly over watering? The only pot I thought I could be potentially be over watering has no issues at all.

NOTE: The past two days we had the power go out momentarily and when the power came back on my variable fan was not set high enough so the lights came on but not my carbon filter fan which keeps it cool didn't. The temps got to 92F and the humidity was 75. One time it may have been for 2 hours they were baking in the heat. I thought I'd mention this in case it looked like heat stress on any of them.

Below is my 00 Seeds Auto Bubblegum. It's getting close, maybe a week or two with some of the trichomes clear, most cloudy and very few amber. The spots look like calcium deficiency but I've given it CalMag the past two waterings. Maybe I'm just be impatient but it seems the spots are getting worse in the new bud area.

00 Seeds Auto Chocolate Skunk - this looks like calcium deficiency as well.

Pyramid Seeds White Widow - The new tops are light colored and not looking good.

Thank you very much for any help with these problems!!

Are you adjusting the ph after you put the nutes in the water? Cal mag is slow to respond in the plants.

I would post this in the infirmary, you will get better advice than i can give. These look too good to let slip now

I just watered this morning. Should I wait a few days or give them a watering now with the boosted CalMag?

Thank you!

Double your cal/mag are she should finish up fine. 8-10ml per gallon every feed! Shes a cal/mag grubber and if you dont double the dose, you will have some serious trouble. Dont need to worry about toxicity.:headbang:

Thanks buddy! Yes I adjust my pH after anything is added. I posted in the infirmary.

Good deal! The infirmary made a house call. I never want to give advice if im not sure.

Today is day 56 from seed of my first grow. My 00 Seeds Bubblegum looks ready to start flushing. A few buds have about 30% amber trichs while other buds have just a few. The buds with little amber have mostly cloudy trichs.

A few questions I have is about flushing:
  • Do I flush until the leaves really yellow or can I flush for 7 to 10 days and harvest? I'm guessing I want to wait till the leaves yellow because that signals the nutrients have been used up?
  • Do you recommend a product like FloraKleen by General Hydroponics to help with the flushing process?
  • If I know the bubblegum that I am going to flush is a calcium eating monster do I still give any CalMag during the flush or let her go cold turkey from the CalMag? I'm worried about calcium spots all over the buds.
The issue with calcium deficiency spotting and yellow tops has started to go away. I more than doubled my CalMag and reintroduced micronutrients (Microlife Plus-C) at a higher level.

Below is my bubblegum that I'm ready to start flushing. On my first grow I'm pretty stoked to see so many frosty buds on one of my plants.

Below is the full garden at day 56 from seed. Next grow I'll only do 2 plants in the 5 gal pots instead of 4. The plants on the front are 00 Seeds Bubble gum on the left and 00 Seeds Chocolate Skunk on the right. Back row is 00 Seeds Cheeseberry on the left and Pyramid Seeds White Widow on the right. I can't wait to sample the buds side-by-side in a session.
