Sounds like you made the right call if you don't want couchlock with too much amber. I've sampled a few of the smaller bits over the last 3-4 weeks... for science :eyebrows: .... and I've rather enjoyed them

Got the larfy stuff in a jar now to tide me over for a while so that helps with the patience part :smoking:

Day 128 ... :pop: ... :kitty:

Starting to note a good change in the leaves .....

At the MOST 7- 9 more days before we see a good amount of yellowing / curling of the leaves .....

When the fall colors come in full blaze, she will be past her peak ....

Suspect you’ll be cutting next week.

Good luck,
MOB

Looks sticky, how is the smell?

Leaves are starting to turn as well as some amber although still a ton of clear ..... Don’t think she will put on much more weigh but effect might change ..... She for sure fox tailed but that isn’t necessary bad for the buzz, just the bud development is different and doesn’t pack the weight like we wanna see .....

Remaining energy plant has, now will go to remaining portions ..... Long grow and It was well grown - from my understanding fox tailing is more of a seed issue than a grower issue but I would want the opinion of a Well Seasoned Grower like @slowandeasy to weigh in or others reading this post .....

Good job recording and you showed something wish I had more of and that is patience!

Best of luck next grow,
MOB

Thanks, I can't compare to know what was what but overall I'm very happy with my first grow. I agree she won't pack on the weight she perhaps could have but it's plenty as it's just for me and should last for quite some time.

She's sticky and stinky ...although once harvested it smells more like cut grass during drying. I've read that as it cures in the jar, the smell comes back again as the curing does it's thing.

So far with my tests in the wedryer, somewhere between 3-4 days max seems to be about right depending on how dense the buds are. Given that I've filled 3 of the 4 tiers in the wedryer, it'll prob be 4 days until jarring. If I harvest another few buds today to fill that 4th tier, it'll be midweek before I can harvest more which seems fine to let things keep maturing.

Yesterday's harvest prob does contain a lot of clear but most of the larger more mature buds are still to come, I took most around the edges and were quite larfy... so this batch will be a little racier

As for recording everything, I doubt I'll do it for my next grow but I now have something to refer back to and I hope it helps other first-time coco growers

Foxtailing is caused by a few things. Some strains are more prone. However, in this case taking a plant 130 days is insanely long and extending a frow that long csuses foxtailing and a decrease in potency. Not sure what the person is waiting for, that is extremely long for any Auto. As the plant gets older, the foxtailing is its last ditch effort to stay alive. Excessive heat and light also can cause this, but the age alone is most likely the cause. And FWIW, Autos are not the ame as photos. Taking any Auto weeks beyond normal grow time will not create a better end product. Dont chase Amber. Harvest when mostly cloudy. Peak potency and terpene profiles will decline rapidly on some strains. I cant imagine letting a plant go that long, that is over 1/3 of a year for a single plant. Peace, slow
