PH 5.5 - 5.6 would be better for the 1st couple of weeks ,Auto... 24 degrees is the max recommended for the res too .If you can bring that down a bit that would help minimize any risk of rot ect . even a couple of degrees would be a much safer zone :smokebuds:

alright well by the time i'd have to water again she'll probably already be in the bucket but I'll definitely try to keep the res water cool enough and I thought photo plants like a higher ph?

sorry bud ,did not know it was a photo (should read a bit more 1st !) you could be right about the PH for them I have never grown one so would be interested to as well now !:smokebuds:

everything's going well so far she's juts getting her second set of blade leaves. Kinda looks like the Air Force logo lol

Vira gave you spot on info, I've never heard of photos needing a higher pH.

sorry for the late update I've been busy with school but anyways her taproot still hasn't gone through the bottom of the rockwool. Two of the leaves got pinched if that's what you'd say and other than that she seems to be looking good

It kinda looks a little light green though maybe I should start with some cal-mag

The roots just popped through the bottom of the cube this morning! I washed off the hydroton with hot water before using it. As for the res I put a 1/2 tsp stealth hydro grow, a squirt of cal mag, a squirt of silica boost, and a squirt of cns17 grow. I pH'ed my water to 5.5 and my ppm's at 460 and I got the res to around 23.4 degrees if that's cool enough
