Grow Mediums First Coco Grow tips?

Thanks for the input. It's always appreciated. Yes I'm going with the coco blend. I am a bit up in the air on the perlite thing. It seems for every perlite grow I've seen a naked coco grow that all look good. I think I'll wait to see how this brick feels after its been hydrated. I'll probably try both. I'm planning to do the manifold bit in which case I can prolly get 4 plants going

I'm going to be starting with coco brick and will be going with Perfect Sensi Grow & Bloom. Should I use any of the Grow with my water to hydrate the bricks or just straight water. May as well be a total newbie as last time I grew was like 40 years ago and that was hydro

Yes, hydrate with you Sensi Grow.
The vast majority of brick coco is not buffered.
If you can get Sensi for Coco, even better.

Give it a good dosage to hydrate and buffer.
Then you can rinse down to whatever ppm you need for the seedlings / cuttings.
For example, you may hydrate and buffer with about 1000 ppm = 2.0 EC or so.
Then get it down to about 200 ppm = 0.4 EC for starting your plants.

There is good info on Coco for Cannabis website about all this.
They also recommend blending coco with perlite.

You can try mix perlite in your coco. Im uing 50/50 mix and works great.
Ive seen some other guys mix coco, perlite and vermiculite to.
Soak the coco then drain and squeeze out excess water add 50 percent perlite and bobs your uncle.
I mix half tea spoon cal mag in every 5 litre of feed mix and epsome salts :)
