Grow Mediums First Coco Grow tips?

I'm going to be starting with coco brick and will be going with Perfect Sensi Grow & Bloom. Should I use any of the Grow with my water to hydrate the bricks or just straight water. May as well be a total newbie as last time I grew was like 40 years ago and that was hydro

What brand brick do you have? Depending on the brand you might have to exspand and rinse with calmag.

Also what's your water source? City or well water and do you know your ppm and ph for your water before adding any nutrients?

Plantonix Coco Bliss. I'll be using distilled water as the well water is "unfit for human consumption". I do have filters on it so its safe for washing dishes and boiling water. The distilled has a ph of 7. Suppose I should do another test on the filtered well water for yucks and giggles.

Distilled water gives you inaccurate readings. Idk what your planning on spending or how big your grow is gonna be but if your serious about using coco coir and advanced nutrients ph perfect maybe you should look into getting a Reverse osmosis water filter. They are very reasonable and really makes everything easier and better. I have a Liquagen 150gpd and it's indespencable. I have a friend on here that I just helped buy one as well and he loves it. They have smaller units for around 50 bucks and you will have pure H20. And the filters are cheap and last for over a year. Is that a possibility for you?

Reverse osmosis is possibility. I did just test the water coming thru my current filtration. I forgot that the last cartridge I bought had been upgraded and the water is at least "acceptable and average" Us standards at 304 ppm and ph 7.1
As for the grow- it will be 3 plants in a closet in the back of my rv. If it goes well, I have another side that I can convert.

The problem with high ppm water is that over time the solids in the water will build up and cause nutrient lockout. My water well water with a ph of 7.9 and a ppm of around 350 and I struggled for a long time until I got my RO system. And The advanced nutrients sensi grow and bloom are designed for RO water specifically. Your ph won't be perfect with your current water source I had to add on down with it to get mine where it needed to be and the high ppm dosent leave alot of room for other nutrients in the mixture. Autoflowers are very sensitive. I have my plants at the edge of burn with my AN sensi grow at 320ppm. But that's with RO water. Here's the systems that work best for me that don't break the bank and come with everything you need. I have the 3 stage and my ppm is still only 6 after a year of running filters it came with.

I'm not familiar with the brand of coco you got but I'd exspand it with filtered water then put it in the pots your using without the plants then water it thoroughly with a 2ml per gallon of each parts A and B of the sensi grow. This will wash away any residual salts and help fill the CEC sites of their appitiite for calmag. I water them 3 -4 times with 20% runoff each time before I plant my seedlings in them. Are you using the sensi grow and bloom coco blend or just the regular sensi grow and bloom?

And dont forget your perilite. I go 50/50 perilite with coco. Sorry if im overwhelming you with information if there's anything you have questions about just ask. The only bad question is the one not asked it's alot to take in all at once.
