New Grower First AF grow, Northern Lights, Crit Mass, Cr Caramel and Af Kush. Heeya!

True. I just am hoping that they take into flight with the new lights. And grow on up some so they can handle some gentle nute feedings and be on my way.

Aye folks. Not too much going on just figured I would check in. Today/yesterday(it's kinda late here) was the 7 day mark since my flush on the girls. It took until now for them to be dried up to water again. I checked all of the runoff and all but one were dead on and the one that was a little off wasn't very much, and the new watering should bring her right back up. The way I water and retrieve runoff gives it to me pretty damn clear, and since I am still using the drops to check my ph this is very nice. I see others with two party cups so that when you tier you can just pick it up and place it straight into the new and bigger pot, as the bottom is already cut off hopefully. I'm doing the double cup deal, but it still needs drainage right? So even the outer second cup I poked holes in and have them all on a plate, not sure if this is whatever everyone else is doing or not, works for me. And when I water I place them inside yet another party cup with no holes and by the time it runs through the holes in the second cup and down into the third one for watering it is rather clear. Anywho...
There is new growth still on all four even the little NL, she still stands on her own but has barely made a move, definitely not upwards. The CritMass is still the best and largest one. The CCaramel is behind that and then the AkRyder, although she is still quite droopy. The first set and part of the second set of leaves are burned up still, crispy to the touch, but the new growth looks really good, hopefully since they're getting older that won't keep happening and since I flushed them. Sorry I don't have any pics now I know that would be cool. Didn't get around to getting them and now the fiancee' is in bed, which is where the grow closet is...I will post more tomorrow which is good because this post will be pushed back by then and it's late now, not sure that anyone will see it. I am thinking that that since they are all about two weeks or more old and they aren't very big then that I will surely not get very much off of them, maybe a quarter oz. each, if that. Which I will be happy with as I would have four bags(most likely three as the NL is really stunted) of good quality smoke for personal use, and three different kinds at that. This will save me over $300 from getting it from dealers. This won't be enough to last me until I can grow more but it will be a start and a great learning experience to boot. My light and nutes got shipped out today/yesterday and HTG is pretty damn quick on the shipping so I expect to be setup with that by Friday or before maybe. Then all I require is my proper exhaust fan and filter. I know I am late on this but I am going with what I have. I refresh the air in my tent a few times a day and the temps stay fine with the small little fan pulling air out of the top and the bottom flap open for intake.
I noticed a new grower post a thread today and he is using the exact same LED panel that I had from HTG and just sent back. It seems to be fine for him so far his girl is like three weeks I think and looks very nice beyond a little nute burn which is what he was posting about. He is the only other member I have seen use it, I was literally the first I think. I told him my experience but then looked again at his pics and it got me thinking that maybe it wasn't the damn light that was screwing me up so bad. Which is fine it's whatever I am glad it is working for him and I think I am better of with the 20,000 lumens of the Tek lamp I am getting AND all the GO nutes I wanted for the same price as that LED panel alone. Still kinda sucks though. What else is so wrong that is stunting my plants so bad? Yes the ph was off but damn not that bad and I got it right back into place. The only thing I don't have that others have is a proper exhaust fan. But could that really be screwing me up that bad? Thanks in advance for reading and helping if you can.

Howdy squid. Have seen you on and off the last few days. You were up late. I know many of us are eager to see your new set-up and the recovery of the seedlings. I am for one--I 'm getting tired of watching my own plants. I don't blame you for sending the LED back. You had doubts about its pedigree--so to speak. From what I have read you will get better results with the new Tek and the spectrum. And, to top if off, you may be the first vegan grower on AFN. BTY--I am a long time vegetarian not yielding so far to vegan style, but, close from time to time. Soon you will be singing a classic Steppenwolf hit. You'll be online way before me--have a good day.

If your medium and pH are OK, you have to look at external factors. Refreshing the air in a tent a couple of times a day is not enough for plants, even if they're small. A slow air exchange rate would be a few times per minute, not per day. It's quite possible that your plants are basically suffocating. Could you leave the tent open some of the time until you get your ventilation set up?

Hey guys. Thanks for the uplifting words Smiffee. You rock. And so do your CreamCaramels :smokebuds:
So hey Andy, check it, I think maybe you're on to something here. I'll break my little fan setup down again and see if we can rule this to be the culprit or not. My "exhaust fan"(I " it because it is not a proper exhaust fan, I mean yeah it pulls air if you flip it over, haha) is one of those little $13 6 inch heater/fans from Walmart. You may know the one I mean. It sits on top of one of my 6 inch openings on the top right of my tent and it is on the fan setting only, and pulling warm air out. The bottom back flap on the tent is open to pull air in, but it is from the back of the tent which is a few inches away from the closet wall. I leave the closet door open but the tent is closed other than that. I am in an out of the tent a few times a day but not always. There is a small box fan pushing air around inside the tent. The temps and humidity are always fine except for the other weekend when my buddy checking on them closed the closet door. I think you read about that though. Anywho, so you're saying that just because the temp and rh is ok and I let air in a few times a day it could still be not getting enough air? I kinda feel like an idiot now that I break it down like this. It totally sounds like I am not pulling enough air out and the air that I am pulling out is basically going back in, although keeping the temps and rh at proper levels, this still can't be good. Well fuck, pardon me. But that almost has to be it. Everything else isn't perfect or anything but that is the Only damn thing I lack in the setup, f me man. haha. I went and opened up the front flap about halfway and left it like that. Keeping my bedroom door closed completely so the cat doesn't eat them. I have a question though, yes I can leave the tent open until I get my fan setup, but what about light leaks? My room is pretty dark as I have black curtains because I just like it dark when I sleep, but there is still a little sunlight coming in and I have to go in and out of my room sometimes and not for the plants, as it is my bedroom. Any suggestions? Muchos thanks fellas.

Light leaks can be a problem if you have photos in the tent, but autos can do fine under 24/7 lights. If you need to keep the tent closed, you could set up a temporary active intake pulling air from outside the closet. Assuming your tent has a duct entry hole near the bottom, it could be as easy as buying a $5 piece of dryer duct and pointing a desk fan into it. That would ensure that you're getting some fresh air directly to the plants. Shouldn't take too long to see if it makes a difference.

Splendid idea chap! Damn, not to toot my own horn but I am a rather intelligent fellow and I don't know why I didn't think of that. I won't be growing photos for a while so just AFs now. I give them a 4 hour nap everyday but it will still stay pretty dark in there with the tent open, and that will be ok? Otherwise I still may do the duct idea, I think I will actually. I will need that duct anyway. Wish I would've thrown it on my recent HTG shipment. I'll be getting my new light and Go nutes tomorrow. Woot woot! Thanks a ton El Andy, you have been a big help with my troubleshooting. I feel that all of this just strengthens me for my second run. I will update as necessary on my general progress and my ventilation outcome. Thanks again, good sir.

You're absolutely right that this will make all your subsequent grows better. With most things in life, you never learn the best lessons when things go perfectly. You've definitely got the right attitude about things. There have been lots of growers who passed through here and they just got eaten up with stress and anger when things went wrong. Most of them either don't come around any more, or they learned to relax and put more positive energy into their growing.

You should be fine with the tent open, assuming your cat doesn't get in there. :D I've seen plenty of pics of bedroom grows where the plants are right on the closet floor with the door open all the time. Good auto strains shouldn't hermie or be stunted by the extra light, but it would be good to make sure they had some dark time to rest and recover.

So are you going with the BioThrive nutes? I just picked some up today so I'll be trying them out as a comparison to the FF Trio that I've used in the past. After tons of reading it seems that the grow nutes are good but the bloom nutes have been somewhat of a disappointment. I just bought the veg and marine mix for now, and I'll make the call on flower nutes when the time comes.

Cool. Thanks man. That's what it's all about to me, the grow. If I mess it up, screw it, I bet I won't do the same thing again, haha. Lessons learned in this thing we call LIFE.

Hey by the way not copying you(ok I guess I am) but it's so much easier to read and follow along when you split it up like you do, gotta start doing this on my longer rants. Learned something else today:booya:

Yes sir, I am getting the Bio Grow and Bloom, as well as the Black Diamond and Bio Root supplements. I have heard a lot of good things about it and most of their lineup is vegan, which is what I am trying to do here. Yeah, I know plants aren't humans but I still want to give it a shot as I am the only one here doing it. I will be looking forward to seeing how they work out for you.

Hey bro thought id come by and see how ur doin. Id luv to see sum pics of ur girls. i want to put my pics up but neither riu or autoflower.net will work with my phone. n e ways just alittle update for u. one of my snowryders died. and the rest are doing beautifull. ones alittle behind and another got stunted. just an fyi samsara's shot adrenaline is sum good genetics. its doin better than the short stuff genes.
