Hey guys,

I'm about to embark on my first grow tent. I want a high quality led light! I'm thinking the spectrum king or new starlite helios.

What about a platinum led p450? KIND led or Mars pro Cree 128 or 256. What will give me the best quality dense resinous buds?

Love AFN!

Make your own light from cob lights bro. Way better yields .

If you can afford it, get COB lighting, even the cheaper cob/led lights would work for a 5x5 space.

LED Hydroponics do a nice range of LEDs ready made if you don't wanna make your own. I think they're great, the man there is sound, and they sell to the big boys....

The skylines are superb, good growth and loads of rock solid nugs.

How do I make my own COB? and what is COB lol
C.o.b is just a type of led it means chip on board, basically it's a pcb (printed circuit board) with loads of tiny leds bunched together. If you go over to the led diy section there's loads of threads with help and also watch growmau5 on YouTube he basically breaks down the build process step by step and thoroughly explains everything. Here's a picture of just the cob itself.

I'd like to purchase a COB already made, such as a starlite helios or something along those lines. What do you recommend? Also is the natural full spectrum white light better than the blueish red led?

To be honest I'm not the guy to recommend anything at the minute as I'm just starting to learn about them myself but I'll have a look around on here and find someone who might be able to point you in the right direction. Also I've heard of a guy that builds and sells them on here so I'll see if I can find out who that is.

I must admit, looking at the units, they do seem quite simple in construction, good quality components all they way. Using the same components, how cheap is a good 400W LED to make yourself? You can see the big grow LEDs just above, there's 4 x 100 white LED COB strips attached to (what I think are called heat sinks), with that silver thing wired over the top ( ?power unit).... what are we talking???$$$$????
