Thanks! The muffler works pretty well. It made a noticeable difference when I tested it off vs on.. It is a bit shorter than it should be, though. I suspect that it would be even more effective if it were 4" longer. They say that the rule is that the length should be at least 3 times the diameter of the duct size. So for a 4" fan it should be at least 12" long. Mine is 8, and still made a huge difference. I thought about also lining the ventilation chamber with carpet on the inside, but the noise isn't really a huge issue for me, and it is plenty quiet as-is.

I find that the most noticable and penetrating noise comes from the air pump. Damn, some of them can make a good buzzing sound. I tried to hang one to have in suspended in air to reduce the buzzing but it still makes plenty of noise. Cannot really cover it too much either...

Ordered 2 300w LEDs today for the box. I will update here when I make the changes. I will be adding 2 feet in height to the box by creating and connecting a lower chamber, it will be my "cool chamber"... The basic idea is to insulate and partially cover over the top of, a chamber in the bottom of the cabinet creating a shady spot to circulate the intake air down low, to create a cool spot. The reservoir will sit in this space with the cool air being drawn up around it by the ventilation chamber. The air pumps will sit right near the actual intake so they are pumping cool air through the water. I noticed that on my last grow, once the scrog filled up, it stayed really nice and cool at the bottom and kept the res at a nice temp when a fan is going in that space(near the intake from the ac in the house). The plan is to re-create that without need of the canopy to keep it shaded that way I have more control over my res temp. It will be more solidly regulated by the intake temps this way.
