New Grower Finally after 5 year of waiting, decided it's time for a new Grow.

Hello fellow growers, I need your opinions.
How safe is it to vent directly outside , can you smell it outside your house even with a carbon filter on.
My grow would be on ground floor with a busy street and neighbours too.

I need to vent somewhere different, I have to go either outside, or I'll have to put a hole in the wall where my grow is now and vent into the next room and out the window.

My grows haven't been working out well where I am growing and venting now. All the leaves die off and I get all sorts of deficiencies.
I think it's due to the recycling of stale air.

What do you all think?
Hello i would vent in another room just to be safe as we growers get a bit nose blind my wife smells when i need a new filter way before i do

That's what I'm thinking too.
My last grow started smelling so I knew I needed a new filter.
If I vent into another room,
How hard is it to drill a 4"hole in the wall?
It's definitely a hollow wall.

cutting a hole isnt a big issue, so long as it doesnt piss off the land lord, you can rent the drill and cutting tool,

you can also have more than one filter in the exhaust system, one at each end, pull-push or an added in line filter, etc, it might mean adding an extra inline fan for more power...

i dont think its necessary to draw air from an outside source in most caes... but that a case by case situation, the main issue is filtering the aroma before releasing to an unsuspecting world, you can also add some sort slow release smelly blocks, like tiolet blacks in the pipe just before it exits to help disguise the smell.

You got me thinking, but not sure how I could do it.
The ground floor has a dryer vent I was thinking of using.
the only thing i can see wrong with that is you will be bringing in very cold air or very hot air

Thanks, some good things to think about.

I vent into the same room and I have three tents running at the same time a 4x4, 3x3, and a 2x3…. Most all my plants look like shit by harvest time it the biggest thing I’ve found to keeping them healthy is keeping my vpd in check.. I was letting my rh get to low which stops transpiration

Oh and I wanted to say the longer the vent tube is the less air that is moved longer runs reduce airflow

Thanks Dale, you could be right about vpd.
A lot of people seem to vent into same room and have good grows.
Just not sure why all mine go wrong.
Still trying to figure out what's for the best.
