Hey everybody! :smoking:
This journal will be for my Solocup setup running off of my diy drip system. I have 3 different FastBuds strains, and one Mephisto, all of them are now above the coco and ready to go! Its either going to be a disaster, or we maybe we get lucky and I am able to keep them going long enough to stumble across the finish line!:haha: :smokeit::shrug:

Quick rundown on the setup:
-Mars Hydro 4’x2’x6’ tent
-4x 18oz Solocups with drainage cut in the bottom
-Canna Coco mixed with Perlite 50/50
-4x 3500k Autocobs
-Inkbird temperature and humidity controller
-4” Vivosun extraction fan and carbon filter
-DIY Drip system with 8 port manifold and 2.0gph emitters
-Greenleaf Nutrients
-RO water

I put all 4 seeds into abit of water to soak at 12am 03/01/20, and by 8pm that night they all went into Solocups filled with coco/perlite. Inside the tent the temperature is 80°f with 65%Rh. Purple Lemonade was the first to break ground (I’ve noticed that others who germed some PL has theirs break ground very quick as well!) on Sunday, followed by CBD 20:1 and Sweet n Sour on Monday, and finally today the Gelato joined everyone else. :d5::woohoo:

Week 1 (Day 7)

Everyone is happy and healthy so far! All 4 have been getting fed once a day with 0.5g/gal MC, 1g/gal SC, and 1.25g/gal CMP (used to buffer my RO water to 150ppm). Temps are steady at 79°f and humidity is set to 65%. Lights are still on 24/0 to keep the temps warmer in the tent for the time being, and I think they are about 38-40” above the plants.

When I made the lids for the buckets, I just roughly carved them out with an exacto knife. While it worked, It was pretty crude and my ocd got the better of me. I got new lids and cut a 3.5” hole in the middle of them using a hole saw. I then took a solo cup and cut off the bottom, to act as a sleeve for the plant to sit in. So much easier to remove the plants now, and I’m not squeezing the coco at all anymore, to try and get the cups out.

Heres the thing, I swapped out the lids and we got some solid roots hanging out the bottoms of all the girls. Not sure if it’s gonna affect the plants at all, I’m hoping they just air prune themselves and everything keeps moving forward. Anyone got some insight to this? @Beerhunter CDN how was yours underneath?

Week 2 (Day 14)

I remedied the issue (sorta ) of the roots growing out of the drainage holes by placing the cups into other ones with a bunch of pinholes in the bottom. Needless to say the plants weren’t happy with that assault of their roots, but they’re troopers and will pull through . Already have some very fine ones creeping through the pinholes. “Life, uh, finds a way.”:smoking:

Purple Lemonade seems to be the one that’s most pissed off at me, for bending and stuffing her roots into another cup. I’m not sure if it had a bit of light burn going on at the beginning stages (All cobs are now 36”+ above canopy), because there’s abit of funky stuff on the first 2 leaves, but she snapped out of it and is putting out nice green growth now.

The other 3 are doing what they do, building roots to grow the fruits . Temps are 78°f and humidity is at 58%, with leaf temps sitting at 70°. Right smack dab in the green, as far as VPD goes.

Feed Strength
-MegaCrop 0.8g/gal
-SweetCandy 1g/gal
-CalMagPro 1.25g/gal

That sucks Garage but they’ll recover, a sprinkle of mycos would help with the transplant and recovery I believe but you need to inoculate the roots early on. Good times poking pinholes in the cups hey? Are the buckets your reservoir as well or just catching the waste from a main reservoir? How many times per day are you watering?

I’m too cheap to pay Amazon what they want for some mycos, so it will have to wait until my next trip to the city. I’ll just talk extra sweet to them in the time being, that usually perks them up :eyebrows:. Pinholes weren’t too bad, I raided the wife’s sewing kit for her stitch ripper, and that worked pretty well. The buckets are just there to catch the runoff, I empty them every couple days. I’ve got the pump running 2 times per day, once at 6am and at 6pm. It stays on for 2 minutes at a time, roughly feeding 320ml each feeding.
