Fast Buds Fast Buds LSD-25 first grow

Well I liked the smoke so much at week 8 that I just went ahead and chopped down my experiment plant today at day 63. So I did my initial chop of the main cola at week 7 yielded 5 grams, the week 8 chop yielded 4.5 grams, and now the rest of my experimental girl has been chopped at day 63. Today I was able to destem and trim about half of her with a weight of 43.2 wet. The other half is hanging in my drying box I made with stem and leaves intact. I'm going to trim the rest later and get a weight on it, so I can have an idea of total yield.

So far I have 9.5 dry grams (smoked 5 already lol) Looking for about 40 more wet grams when I trim up the rest tomorrow. Should be a total dry yield of 29-31 grams. Not too shabby. I'm letting the other two gals go to day 70, so one more week.

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but do I have to wash the smart pot before I reuse it? Does the fabric hold on to anything that would affect my next grow or can I just start my next baby in there? Help is greatly appreciated!

I never thought I would say this, but thats a beautiful stem. That color is amazing!

Okay, so theres never stupid questions, and there are actually multiple answers. In general if you are going to dump the soil, and have an empty pot, yes it is a good idea to wash it. I would just do a hand wash, with very mild soap if any. I normally just use the sprayer in my sink, and give it a good rinse, and rub with my hands.

If you where doing a no-till organic grow, it would not matter. You would not be dumping the soil, and the pot would be part of the environment.

Sounds like you'll have a good amount of chop days to compare. And hey, if 56 days is what you like, I say no harm. They looked great then too, and being happy is what matters right? I ended up getting 13.5 grams of bud off that GSC. Plus I added about 3g to the qwiso mix too. That qwiso actually has been lasting me a while. I didn't even pack the 1st test bud till today, and I have enough for most of tomorrow still. The harvest may not have been bountiful, but for a $13 1/2oz I'm happy with it.

Time to go mix some nutes! Oh... I think one of my Rare Dankness plants is a male! I know most people cringe at that, but I'm stoked. I got 2 as freebies, and both are growing. Even if the other 1 is not a female, something in that tent is getting some nuts smacked on'em! Talk to ya later bud. :smoking:

Day 64 update. Idle hands led to another gal getting chopped. Took forever to manicure this lady, luckily I was smoking her sister while trimming her so m back didn't hurt.

This is everything that I have left of my first plant, no including the 5 grams I smoked or the 4.5 I am curing. All this is wet herb and it weighed 67.4g so I'm thinking my toto yield for this gal is around 26 grams.

Day 65...third girl chopped. This third girl was the most purple of them all and definitely going to be the biggest harvest. I did throw a lot of popcorn buds from this gal into my trimmings pile and I am trying a different drying technique with this last gal so I won't have a wet weight. When she's all dried up I will post the dry yield, until then I'm going to try my hand at qwiso tonight! Anyway here are the pics of my last lady

QWISO made a couple of hours ago. Does this look right? I kind of read several methods and then combined different parts of them that I thought would give me the best results. I used 99.9% iso which I read evaporates in 12 hours but I think I will wait 24 hours before I check on it.

Man screw a smoke report, just send me your stems! :haha: The qwiso wash looks good man. It can vary in color, but the green is just the chlorophyll in the leaves. If you wanted to get rid of that, you could place the jar in the sun. I actually tried this just today, and it gave me an amber wash within 2 hours. (It will not take it out of the flavor, but the finished product will be more attractive looking) I have not dried it yet though. It is in the freezer winterizing which is just a fancy word for putting that shit in the freezer...

This is some from the GSC. It was the first wash, and put in the freezer for a week, and then just slow dried. I did a small heat purge, and then let it air cure for 1.5 days. If I hold the dab pad in my hand it becomes gummy, but at room temp will shatter. This liquid started off clear, and the wash was only for 7 seconds. The winterizing, and air cure are thing I recently read about, and first time I have tried them. I will same besides taking longer, it is a better quality/consistency.

One suggestion to limit the amount of chlorophyll is to keep the bud, and ISO in the freezer for at least an hour prior, and during making the qwiso. The chlorophyll is released at higher temps. (or something like that, i don't know the actual science yet) When I make a batch I just bring the jar out long enough to add the ISO, and it goes back in the freezer. After my 10 sec wash, and ~sec drain, the bud goes back in the freezer too.

Grats on making a batch bud. Just be sure to get all the iso out. If you have any questions please ask. Inhaling ISO even in small amounts is very harmful. Oh yeah, and ship me them stems! See ya bud.:smoking:

Thanks for the reps @Fuggzy !

@Marty5678 I appreciate the kind words! The coloring on these buds is amazing and the smoke is even better! I still haven't gotten to sample the potential though. Once my last girl has been cured for at least 3 weeks I will do an updated smoke report. I must say the buds aren't as dense as I would have hoped, but I did use CFLs and hardly any nutrients.

@Fuggzy I have a question about nutrient dosing, So on my bottle is said something like add 25-30 ml per gallon. So I would add 10-15 in a one gal bucket. Then I would water than with that gal and if I thought they needed more water I would just use plain tap water that had been sitting out. Does that mean I was under dosing the girls? if I mix one gal at 1/2 strength but then add two more gal of plain water is that further cutting down the feed to 1/6? I was very worried about overfeeding.

Also for a 2.5x3.5 space how many plants do you think I can fit effectively? Judging on the size of my plants this round I would say I could have gotten 5 in there for sure and possibly 6 but it would have been a little crowded. I am seeing other's grow journals and their plants are a good bit bigger than mine. I'm wondering if I should just keep my number at 3 per grow and try to increase plant size or if I should just increase the number of plants I'm growing? If I could get 2 oz. per plant then 3 plants would be more than enough. 3 plants was plenty with about 1 oz. per plant. I have 5 smart pots so I was just wondering if I should attempt to grow 5 at once or just stick with 3 or add only one more and just do 4 plants. I'm struggling to put together this second grow because I want it to be better, but I still kind of don't know what I'm doing lol.

In regard to diluting your nute, I don't know. There is the good ol' saying less is more. Same time adding 2 gallons of water on top of 1 gallon of nutes is like a flush. I do my nutes in liters, so say if I feed a plant 1L, and it needs 250ml more, I'd just give it water. If it gets 1L and needs another, I'd give it nutes. I would just try and figure a happy medium to judge by. You want to give them the best potential you can, but not over dose them. Someone more experienced with nutes may be needed for this.

My nutes are also 6-7 bottles pending on the mix, so if you only have 1-2, make some more. 250ml of nutes is simply not worth the time for me to mix all that shit up.

Oh yea.... all my photos turned out to be males....:shrug:TTYL bud.:d5:

Oh, for space. That answer is heavily going to depend on the strains you grow, and the size of the pot. With 1/2g pots I can grow 4 autos in less than 1 sq ft. In the 5g pots, 4 plant are almost to much for my 4x2 tent. Actually I would say 4 IS to much.

You have 0.75 more sq ft, and a better shape for doing 2 rows. I would say 2 large, 3-med, and 4 sm-med plants in that area.

This is where LST can be very helpful too though. Fill in the area and make it more efficient. Basically you are trying to make that KW/hr work in your favor. If you loose 2 sq ft of canopy from your 8.75 then the Kw/hr per gram grown goes up by ~20%. Just a side thought...

I personally think you'd be better off doing less plants of a larger mass.:smoking:
