I don't quite understand the question. When she's ready to chop, I trim aff all fan leaves, then cut herdown. This prevents any vascular fluids from getting sucked back into the sugar leaves/buds once she's chopped - helps prevent that hey smell considerably. As far as being mean....did you ever think or consider cloning? The plant is still very alive once chopped down. Now you are being more cruel by slowly cutting evrey leaf off w/o any chance for the plant to recover. At least my plants go out thinking they are slim and trim with a a good attitude. And that karma gets passed on to me when I enjoy the medicine!
