I have a question for the group. Have you ever had an Autoflower plant finish up on you before the buds were complete? .....meaning that the buds still looked like they need more time to fill in?

We all know that Auto's are on their own schedule which previously brought up the question in my mind; What if the plant is like a battery. You buy batteries and sometimes they last a year or more and sometimes you buy a dud that only works for maybe a few weeks. Knowing that Autos have their own time frame, or limit, I have wondered if a plant can go through its allocated time but not be complete, just because its timer say "time is over". I think I have one of those.

As some of you are aware, I have been complaining ;) about one of my plants. For the past week now, all the fan leaves have been turning yellow and falling off. It is now happening to the smaller leaves on the buds but the buds aren't finished yet. The buds look like they could still use a few weeks to fill in and tighten up but I think the plant is done. I don't think any amount of nutes or anything can keep it going...I just think it's time is up.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? ........just out of curiosity.

Thanks for the reply Namvet!

Trichomes are going milky with some clear. The hairs are a mix of white and brown. To be honest, I'll have to wait till this evening to give you a more accurate description and pics. The buds are not filled out like they are on the other plants and I know they could use at least 2 if not 3 more weeks but I don't know if she'll make it that far.

I did a Sledgehammer flush on her a couple of weeks ago and after the fact, I am pretty sure that I didn't flush out the sledgehammer enough. Ever since the flush, she has been going downhill quickly. Most all of her fan leaves have turned yellow and are gone. Now the leaves on her buds are starting to turn and so this is why I posted this question.

Adding: in regards to another plant....she is almost 10 weeks, mostly milky with a few ambers. Her hairs/pistils are red and appear to be drying up and dying. Normal? At the end?

I think that you're confusing the leaves turning yellow because of a deficiency or soil ph, with the leaves falling off because of being eaten up by the plant to consume the last bit of nutrients at the end of the life cycle. With those pistils and trichs that you say, she definitely has time left. And the leaves turning yellow and falling off might not be because she at her end and eating them up. But could be because of a deficiency such as nitrogen or problems with the soil ph

That's why I'm confused. I have tried giving her nutes but they don't seem to do anything. I have Fox Farm nutes. What would you suggest?

The soil ph was 6.8 last time I checked, day before yesterday.

Well because you're giving her nutes doesn't necessarily mean she can uptake them, the soil has to be at a certain ph for the plant to be able to use the nutrients for example if the ph is too low. Certain nutrients like nitrogen cannot be used by the plant, so checking your ph and getting it in the right zone for soil is the first thing

Once leaves are yellow they seldom turn green again ... I've had plants finish that were as white as parchment paper ... maturing buds have the ability to keep a plant alive ... like all, I'd say to keep an eye on your pistils and trichs ... you should know when it's done just by looking at it ...
:pass:

I wouldn't use Sledge Hammer, I hound that out last grow as it almost killed all my plants. I've been just flushing with water and all is good again.:pass:
