well I've been battling low ph the last couple days. didn't think to check it as I its never happened this soon or got this low! 5.2! the RP was a very light green from the get go and I wrote it off as being a sprout. as it got bigger it got a little darker after a very light feed of the nitro big. helped but seemed not enough. checked the soil ph and sh*t! so I added some old oyster shells I had used in my cichlid tank to up the ph.this was easily ground to a fine powder as it was used, and added 1/4 tsp with de-chlored water that didn't get ph, just straight tap at 7.8. been 2 days since and the ph is 5.8-6. not perfect but better. I gotta keep an eye on it tho. and next water add a little more powdered shells depending on the soil ph. but the leaves are greening up slowly but surely.
I got the ph kinda under control. really, I done nothing. these 3 gal pots will not dry out! I'm really not used to this after running all the small pots in the past. and the growth seems slower. might just be that it looks that way with the bigger pot. so I have not watered since the 8th and it don't seem like i'll water any time soon. but she's growing and getting greener and best of all, she's a she.
thanks for looking
Hey samurai I know you are on top of things but one thing that helped with my grow is I found a moiture probe at lowes one day it was like 4 bucks with a red yellow and green moiture level. Im sure your well aware when your plants need water but with my 5 gal pots I just jammed that probe in once every three days and if it was in red I soaked my pots it really was super easy and no guess work my plants never got too much water and never drooped due to under water.
Nice bushy looking girl you got there cant wait to see some color later
oh yea, i got the accurate 8 jobby, it mostly has to do with using those tiny pots and cans has me used to watering every day or 2. I do believe I'll go to those fabric or airpots next time. thanks for the input bro
Congrats on the girl buddy cant complain about not having to water much I do it about every 6 days. Glad your ph is up again lets keep it that way and as always looking great!
RP was finally dry enough for a feed. she got aprox. 30 oz of feed at ph 7.6 as the soil is still on the low end at 5.8-6. doesn't seem to bother her much now as she's started to grow on a faster pace. fed 1.25 tbsp. NitroBig to 1/2 gal of water with .5ml GH calmag. from the looks of the tips I need to back off the "N" a little
the temp's outside have settled enough to go to 18/6 light schedule. lights on 78-83f, lights out 68-71f. rh goes from 35-60.
here's some pics
