If you want it even quieter, try attaching some ducting to the muffler, or drape something over the end that is pushed by the exhaust., etc. Adding a small amount of resistance or a bend further muffles the turbulence and noise coming out of the muffler. At least with my fan (Can-Fan Pro 6-inch), it seems this turbine-type fan runs quieter (noticeable inside the tent) with some resistance or bends in the outflow. With my first grow, I simply taped a pair of long underwear on the muffler output (with the air coming out the pant legs).

I can see Amphetamine’s (from now on “A”) seed shell pushing up now but still below the surface. Hopefully tomorrow she will break the surface. Not wanting to hold back Narcotic Kush (from now on “NK”). I have prepared the first reservoir capacity of 25% strength nutrients. I am aerating it tonight for a final PH adjustment to 6.0 before changing it out tomorrow.
Week 1 feeding consists of 5 gal. Tap water, carbon filtered PPM 138.
10 ml Botanicare Hydroguard.
Dyna-Gro:
3 ml Pro-Tekt
6.5 ml Foliage-Pro
6.5 ml K-L-N
PH-Down as needed
As soon as A is up the Light schedule will be set to 18/6 to start. The six hour night is to conserve energy. After a couple of weeks in I will go to 20/4.
The tent is running 73°F @ 65% RH. The surface temperature of the Bio-sponge is 76°F as I have half of the eight cobs turned off and the remaining are at 50% (the lowest I can go). The cobs are 24” above the plants. I am keeping the humidity up with a small ultrasonic vaporizer running just outside of the tent intake. It uses about .5 gallon of distilled water per 24 hours.

The NK is doing well, not so with A. She had “Helmet head”. I usually do not interfere with this but it was dragging on so long I felt the seedling was in jeopardy; so with two straight pins I was able to crack the seed shell open and remove it. That seed shell was really strong and I am confident that the seedling would never have cracked it open. I just hope I am not too late. There is much debate about what causes this problem in germination. I have had many cucumbers that do this. I think in this case the seed casing was just too strong. Based on my research old cannabis seeds often display this behavior because the shell has really dried out. I planted them the day I got them from the supplier. In turn they had to wait to mail them to me until they got them from their supplier. I don’t know if that was COTC or some other middle man? Since there is no packing date on the package I have no way of knowing the actual age of the seeds.

Those root riots will give you issues in DWC.I used em once to sprout and had issues with 4 out of 16 that would not sprout and 2 that grew tails than died. and very sluggish growth first week.I read another guy on here used em and had to scrap his whole grow after a couple weeks.
