Outdoor DutchBud´s outdoor grow 2018

Here's another update on my balcony grow:

DSCF4345 (Small).JPG

- B1-B4 are in mid-flowering stage, of wich the B2 had it's lower branches clipped:

DSCF4348 (Small).JPG

- Three new females out of this line have been sexed and transplanted to larger containers: B5, B6 and B7:

DSCF4347 (Small).JPG

- The 1 female that is left of the C line is doing great, starting to stretch now:

DSCF4350 (Small).JPG

- Only 3 non-AF plants left out of the A and C line. Haven't found a suitable home for them yet. The rest hast already been redistributed amongst friends. The latest batch of seedlings showed some strange germ rates by the way:

A line: 12 out of 12 seeds germinated
B line: 5 out of 12 seeds germinated. What went wrong? No idea.

Here's the 12 seedlings out of the A line (Lowryder X Herijuana F2) that showed 100% germ rate:

See you on the next update!

Introducing: B8! Another female out of the Lowryder X Herijuana F3 backcross has been sexed and transplanted into a larger container. She will be needing some gentle wind in order to become more firm the next few days.

DSCF4351 (Small).JPG

A couple more remain unsexed, cannot tell for sure yet. The ones in the tiny pots will be transplanted into a lager sized container soon, prior to sexing. As soon as they show sex, they will be transplanted once more.

Good evening everybody.

It has been more than a week ago since the last update, time for some more pics.

The flowers on B1-B4 are developing and resin starts to appear. Unfortunately, only 2 out of the 4 plants grow fairly compact buds. The other two plants display a rather poor calyx-leaf ratio.

The Vinnie's Haze X (Herijuana X Lowryder F2) is my best plant at the moment. In early flowering stage but already 2 feet tall. Over 6 weeks old already but she still has a long way to go. I'd estimate it'll take her at least two more months to finish.

Last couple of days I have been culling down quite a lot of male plants out of the latest seed batches. Since I am not gonna do any breeding at this stage, all the males are being culled as soon as they show sex. It's always a shame to waste plants that you've put so much care in. The average male/female ratio over this season has been 60/40 at least. Maybe even 70/30.

Update on the latest seed batch, the 12 seedlings out of the A line are enjoying their larger containers and plants are looking healthy and growing vigourously. The expected AF ratio is 25% so I would be happy if I end up with just 1 decent AF female out of this batch.

The ones with the yellow label are of the A line , (Lowryder X Herijuana F2) X (Lowryder X Herijuana F2) sidebreed.

Their getting chunky, so what's the linage of the "Vinnies Haze" side of that cross ? She's a good looking plant. I have a thing for Hazes/ Sativas. Also you have no worries about your plants being spotted by people be it that their out in the open on the patio?

Hello Sundog. This 'Vinnie's Haze' is not actually a strain, to be honest. The motherplant grew out of a seed that a friend of mine (Vincent) found in a bud that had been purchased in a local coffeeshop. He didn't recall exactly wich strain he bought, but normally we buy Lemon Haze or Silver Haze. This seed had been planted out in spring 2017 and produced an autoflowering female, with lots of haze influences. While flowering, we decided to pollinate this lady with the pollen of some AF males out of the A line (Lowryder X Herijuana F2) This resulted in a batch of F1 seeds that i am now testing out. It's not a serious breeding project, since we don't know the exact genetics... but i am enjoying it as a side treat.

Here's the motherplant in mid july 2017:

And one more snapshot close to harvest time, august 24.

I try not to worry too much about it. The plants are not easily noticed from the street, but there's always a risk. Tried to camouflage things a little bit with some annual plants and this helps a lot. As long as the weed stays low, they're out of sight. So i gotta make sure plants don't grow out too large.

Yeah, got 1 AF female out of the 12 seedlings of the A line! Gonna tranplant this one into a very large container asap. The rest of the 12 seedlings seem not to AF. Will keep observing the remaining ones the next week, if no signs of AF... they will be rejected.

Good evening!

We have some news. First of all, the B1-B4 suffered of a lice infestation, on a few of the lower leaves. Got a great tip from a friend of mine, he recommended me to spray the leaves with a maltodextrine solution and gave me a bottle to try. It's organic and works brilliantly, just spray it on the infected leaves and two days later al the lice become black which means they're dead. The other plants that are still in early flowering stage had only a couple of lice on each plant, so I've sprayed them too as a preventive measure. Pics are taken just after treatment when all lice were still alive. I'll try to add pics of the dead lice later.

The Vinnie's Haze is unfortunately developing more and more leaves since the weather has been poor for the last few weeks, with insufficient sunshine. Hot weather with lots of sunshine is forecasted for next week so I hope it's not too late yet. The buds need sun and they need it quick.

This one is very special to me, it's a beautyful Silver Haze X Durban Poison out of some seeds that were given to me by a friend of mine about 10 years ago.
In fact the only non-AF plant that I intended to grow but it is getting too big now and it will be relocated this week.

The B5-B10 are doing well, performing better than de B1-B4 generation that I am harvesting right now. Got two lovely ladies, B11 & B12 ready to be transplanted and join the group.

DSCF4442 (Small).JPG

Of the A line, 1 lovely AF lady has remained out of 12 seeds. Gave this one the largest possible container immediately. I've named it A1:

Looking great over there bro! Love the look of the "Vinnies haze" mother you posted.
from the street view I'd say your safe, I can't see anything!

Thanks, Sundog! This one out of the C line Vinnie´s Haze X (Lowryder X Herijuana) is a promising plant, gonna keep working with the remaining seeds in future crops. The plant is close to harvest now, and I am looking forward to smoking the finished product. We have been unlucky with the weather lately, hardly had any sun for weeks now... but a long period of warm and sunny weather has been forecasted, starting today... hope it's not too late for the rest of the plants that are still in early-mid flowering stage. But I'm afraid the buds of the Vinnies Haze are not going to grow any larger than they are right now.

Besides the Vinnie's Haze, there's 9 more AF plants flowering at the moment: 1 x A line & 8 x B line.
Here's an update of my balcony:

B6 - B10 doing great:

And here is the only remaing AF plant out of the A line, (Lowryder X Herijuana) X (Lowryder X Herijuana) F2. But this is the one i was looking for! Had to reject a couple of dozen non-AF's and AF males in order to obtain this 1 AF lady.

DSCF4463 (Small).JPG

Last but not least: B11 & B12, unlabled yet. These are are of the latest batch of the B line seedlings. The B line was a backcross of (Lowryder X Herijuana) X (Lowryder X Herijuana) F2 males to pure Lowryder females. This grow i have been aiming for sinsemilla/observation only but future crops are going to be dedicated to further inbreeding of all three seedlines.

DSCF4464 (Small).JPG

At the moment I am enjoying my freshly acquired buds of Petrolia Headstash. Yesterday I was at our local coffeeshop and to my surprise they had it listed on the menu. It is one of the 2 parent strains of the Herijuana genetics (Petrolia Headstash X Killer New Heaven) that i am working with. Actually, this is the first time I've had the chance to smoke one of the parent strains in it's pure form.
