not to sure what groffuwiwi was on about but ill keep my ec at 2.2 until the start of pk week

haha... read you wrong then. What I understood (and food for thought)... you up the EC until the pk week, eg Micro, Grow and Bloom @ 2.2 , then during pk week you don't up the EC but mix same EC 2.2 with pk adding the rest with Micro Grow and Bloom. Same EC but much higher P and K. Ever so slightly "starved" by the EC not going up, they would take it all in

If I now understand you right, you up the EC to 2.2, then in pk week you up the final EC to 2.4 ... Not radically different, 0.2 EC is not a world of difference

your theory on pk administration is good but 2.2 would have to be the plants threshold in order for me to administer your regime, this is the only time I would use your method

im in a different position where I haven't hit their peak so im slightly under feeding, already they are craving for the extra feed but Im holding back for the right time

when pk week arrives I will switch the ratio of their feed so it becomes more phosphorus and potassium heavy by which time the plants will be screaming for it so they will soak up as much as they can, whislt this is happening ill be boosting every other day with full dosage so really letting them have it

I know you say .2 ec doesn't make a world of difference but I could argue different depending on how you grow your plants, in some cases .2 ec could be the plants breaking point

think about this for a minute, if you go without food for a couple of weeks and then somebody puts a banquet in front of you what are you gonna do ??

this is the situation im creating with my plants which is why I will drop the ec straight after pk week to give them time to recover

there are so many different ways of growing your plants and different growers will use different techniques to get the end result, im pretty versatile with my growing technique that I can adapt to different feeding schedules, if I was going for monster yield I would be using your method and I would have already found the plants breaking point so I would have no choice but to keep the ec @ 2.2 and change the ratio

Nicely put SB, you mentioned earlier that you wait unitl the flower formation is complete before you whack em with the PK. I can still see mine filling in, the calyxes that are there are starting to get bigger. What would be the signs from the plant that it is the time for the PK boost. Thanks for all your help SB!!!

when the flowers have formed and they start to gain weight, normally its 3 weeks before harvest but unless you know the strain its pretty difficult to judge

it helps a lot if you understand the life cycle of the plant and what each stage of growth is, you get pre-flower stretch followed by fruit formation which is then followed by weight gain/expansion

it will be another week before I hit with the pk on my 1st plant as the fruits are still not fully developed

everybody wants maximum return for their time and effort but not everybody uses the same nutrient formula which is why they are so many variations on answers

just to add this pk technique is designed to go with my base nutrients, if I was using canna my pk technique would be different and maybe the same in your case for advanced nutrients, a lot has to do with the npk values of your base feed

Great info mate :thumbs:can I ask how you would do things with the canna range ?.I think I screwed up this grows PK week ... I made up a res with PK 13/14 ,carboload & aqua flores .With a slightly higher EC of 2.4 (2.2 was sweet spot ) ...Then topped off with the same throughout the week , but less aqua for a lower EC (1.6 ish) to bring it back to 2.4 as it went up.

Thanks for teaching us all the way ... I wonder how much bud would not have been grown if you did not post this pure gold sometimes :thread:

Agreed, even as a soil grower it is still pure gold indeed.

Amazing stuff you got going on in here Seymour! I'm watching this one :smokebuds:

Preeaacchh Seymour

Very well put & thanks for all the info.
NPK values...with genesis line your able to tweak it to your own ratios(if I understand), what's your genesis formula your using and @ what NPK ratios? I compared their full strength feed Npk ratios with mine (AN) bloom ratios with all the additives i use and it's very close to the same exact ratios as genesis. Meant to ask this on your original taiga thread. Thanks for all the info.

Priceless Information.......thank you :slap:
