supplement your feedings with some silicone mate. It will promote stronger stem development and will also increase mould resistance. If you regularly grow plants with large colas then silicone is a must to keep bud rot at bay. 0.02
thnks for the help:hug: if i add some rhino skin will it be good or do yo have a product in mind?

Thank you bud.. I'll go a bit lighter on the silica next run. Can't wait to see these blow up :booya:Tents looking a bit full already !.Are you still planning to grow them both out ?.:D:smokebuds:

the plan is to get them both over the finish line, they have started to grow into each other its almost like i got some lesbian action going on in the grow room :D

rhino skin is silica all be it an expensive 1, as already stated liquid silica is high in ph so just keep an eye on your levels

cheers for the comments

your silica administration sounds about right but i probably wouldnt go highr than 8ml, the ph is quite high so you need to monitor that more often but this will result in a stronger frame to hold more weight, id only use silica from seedling to full bloom switch over and by then she should be ready to go into full flower production and i also read that its best absorb below 5.8 which is perfect veg

as for grow time im not 100% sure as ive got 2 phenos and im guessing the quickest will be done around 70-80 days, we will see in the remaining weeks how quickly or slowly they develope

i extended their veg feed aswell to increase size so this may also be taken into the consideration

hey seymour i think that info you read about ph being at 5.8 for more uptake could be wrong. but at the same i time i can be wrong i guess it all depends whos silicas brand your using, i use the botanicare silica blast at it is recommended to keep ph at 6.0 http://www.botanicare.com/Silica-Blast-P53C3.aspx click on the usage application tab to see for your self hope that helps

Thanks for that bit of info bro, I just ordered mine yesterday because of your suggestion and a little research after the fact. Will be in my arsenal from now on. :slap: for keeping the info free

basicaly your using the silica additive to build the plants frame as a support for heavy yield so you only wanna use it in veg to end of pre-flower stretch as this is the time she is building her structure, after her pre-flower stretch the plant then switches its focus to flower production and is no longer producing any more leaf material and her whole nutrient profile changes

i recommened below 5.8 but more in the region of 5.5-5.7 for best uptake as this is the ideal veg range, when you get above 5.8 - 6.0 this is more for flowering as potassium and phosphorus becomes more available to the plant, this is purely a dwc perspective and may differ from growing medium to growing medium which is why they state 5.5 - 6.0, i know coco growers veg from 5.8-6.0 and again it could well be different for soil

click this link and have a look at their recommendations as this makes perfect sense to me DUTCH MASTER

if you wanna use silica through flower that is entirley up to the grower but with the high ph and the potenial of ph swings id wanna be more focused on keeping my plants in the correct ph range at this stage of the grow

the thing about stopping bud rot can also be avoided by having your grow room fully dialled in, when im in veg ill run my humidity @ 60% and in flower ill drop this to 40% also add into this good air circulation and healthy plants and you shouldnt get bud rot, the bigger your grow space the harder it will be to control certain factors and the more expense it will create as you start to look into air conditioning to maintain the balance

day 42

as you can see in the pics the plant on the right looks bigger but bear in mind that the plant on the left hasnt finished pre-flower stretch and is spreading out and across into the other plant lol, she will be a beauty in fact they will both be beuaties by the end ;)

this grow is only being done under 300 watts of light
