Hey JT thanks for stopping by and the kind words. lol Let's hope so - younger hands are usually steadier hands.
If i could only get the scope shots as good as the bud macro shots. The camera and tripod makes for a good combo. My last attempt to come up with a stand to do scope shots did not work out, so I'm working on a couple of new ideas. The software that came with my scope would not load on any of my computers. To get snaps, I shoot 5-6 minute video with movie maker. Then I go through the video to find 4-5 snaps where I was steady AND focused. almost never lolol. A bit of a pain but it kind of gets the job done.
I only used the video function once but never thought to use it like that. Good idea..I may try that myself. I had the same problem but I found one online that worked for me. Well the wife did..lol

This is what i use to try get steady pics is the tripod part of a selfie stick that i got some samples of for my website, i also had trouble installing the software in Windows 8 so have been using the MiniSee software from ScopeTek that seems ok, still not easy to get a good pic while buds are still on the plant as it moves when trying to focus and then you got to wait for the tripod to stabilize before taking the pic but is the best way i have managed to come up with so far.
I guess great minds do think alike. lolol I am waiting for a microphone boom stand I ordered from Amazon for $20. It has a tripod, adjustable height, with an adjustable boom arm for reach. It should provide the stability that I'm looking for.
I'm using this Celestron unit. Opted to spend a little more as I'm always skeptical of Chinese made and sold electronics..mine came from a Best Buy store soo if I had any issues I could return it or have it warrantied. It's a great lil digi scope.

I'm using the actual Celestron software but a download from the net and not from the disk that came with the unit. The bonus is that if I were to actually calibrate my scope I could make use of the measurement features. It may work with ur scope u should search it out. I would send u the link but as I said my wife set it all up for me as she is our in home tech expert and she aint home to ask. Lmao
