Offering instructions for the drying portion of the grow Nirvana routinely states this:

[h=2]. Hang to Dry[/h]After harvesting, let your Blue Mystic Autoflower buds hang to dry for a minimum of 10 days in a dark and enclosed, but ventilated space until the branches crack when you bend them. How long this takes depends on your climate and atmospheric humidity. Then cut the buds, trim the leaves and store the buds in mason jars. Open the jars 2 to 3 times a day for about 15 minutes to prevent mold growth. Stick labels on the jars to remind you of what’s inside.

No way 10 days. I can go half that and end up with dirt weed. And waiting till the stems crack is a poor barometer. Am I in an alternate universe or is Nirvana in the high humidity zone? And what do they mean by keeping it in an enclosed space?

I hang to dry for about that, sometimes longer and also run a small dehumidifier in the room. 10 days isn't out of the ordinary for someone that hangs entire plants. If you are trimming and cutting branches off the plant then you are reducing dry time in half but with entire plants it takes quite a bit longer to dry due to the flowers still pulling moisture from the main stem. Their recommendation is to not trim the leaves either which is going to increase drying time as well. In this case, the larger the plant, the longer the drying time because you aren't just drying single branches. Even with extended drying periods I still see my jars go into 80% RH sometimes for the first few days and end up having to remove the flowers and table dry some more.

Many are of the opinion that hanging entire plants and increasing your drying time gives a much smoother smoke as it allows more time for off-gassing of the chlorophyll in the flowers.

I sent a note letting them know that under their flowering instructions for autos they recommend changing to 12/12 ... Great place to get seeds and flower/soil tabs though ... I picked up 20 seeds and 20 soil tabs + 20 flower tabs for under $200 w/ shipping ... I expect a 100% germination rate so that's a lot of plants for $200 ...

You've hit the nail on the head. It's all about hanging the entire plant to dry or just the buds. And they do state that it depends on your own circumstances also. I myself also check the bud itself while drying. See how that feels and just go to curing when I feel the times right. I dry on my attic and RH and temperatures during winter are way different than in the summer. It can take up to two weeks for everything to dry properly.

I went 5 days and they jarred at 43%. Now I jar them at 3 days and if they're zooming past 70% they go out for another day or two.
