ok so im drying my harvest the room is at 50 % humidity so thts 5 to 6 days of drying right?well on third day of drying the buds always seem crispy on the outside?what can i do to prevent this?my buds are crispy on the outside and wet in the middle?no fan or air blowing directly on them?when i buy weed its never crispy ahhh what am i doing wrong!i think the drying process is harder than the growing lol!

You don't need to worry about that. Once you jar them the remaining moisture in the stems will rehydrate the buds. I would suggest you have a fan blowing gently on them. Without proper air circulation you may run the risk of mold.

I had exactly the same on the 3-th day, and removed it directly and placed in to the jars, next day the reading was between (57%-67%) different in different jars and also had a crappy HR meters....

I cheat when I dry. after the initial drying which I do in a paper bag. The buds feel dry or sometimes not if the humidity is very high in the Summer months. In the Summer months I chuch them into my food dehdrator butn it on to 110 degrees F and dry them over night. I just go by feel. I f they are then dry on the outside I put them in a jar. Part of my morning stuff I do is to check the jars for a week to feel just how dry the curing pot is in the jars. If it remositures up again and feels damp I take it out of the jars and heave it in the food dehydrator for a few hours then I return it to the jars. Muddy and I do things a little different but I think we both do things well. I am just offering my alternative style. I have never had my drying pot mold which is the biggest concern in drying. Yes slow cure makes better pot than fast cure.

well i freaked out about it and took it off the stems and put in jar im pretty sure its a bit early i will check my hydrometer later and pull them back out if the rh is to high.i wasnt sure about them getting crispy thanks for the quick reply!:bong:

and i have them just drying in a closet with a small ac vent no fan.

It is better to have them not dry enough and be able to dry it to the needed condition afterwards than overdryed in first time :)

i agree with the above coments always best to not dry it enougth than to dry it too crispy its the left of moister that helps the curing of the weed. I found on my first every harvest i put them in a jar alittle early i thought they where ready lol but after 24hrs the humidity in my jars went up to 75% so back out they came for 24hrs then back in left them for 6hrs checked again the rh was at 69% so i left them in the jar and burped them fequently after a week or so they are now at a steady 64% humidity so thats where its staying for another month or when the pk i have in my smoke box runs out. I have been told another way to tell when your bud is ready to jar is when the steams snap easy but obiously not break of like a dried up twig :peace: Si
