New Grower Drying Buds without Cutting leaves or manicuring???

Sorry for the off topic but those Tyrones look amazing! I am hoping my mephistos will look that good!

Yes Peter Sugar Leafes are the ones which are in the Buds ore coming out not the big Fan Leafes at the Stems. My lil thumbrule is whats covered with sugar stays on. And if the Buds are dense enough there is not much to trim when dried cause the sugar ones will melt together with the Bud. Here is a Pic of the Tyrone Special Dried Buds with the Sugar ones on them. Thx Blessed well they were super easy to grow and aint took much nutes but make relaly nice n dense Nugs.

FWIW, the few grows I have under my belt, I first tried to just trim fan leaves only, let dry for a few days, and when it was nearing the cure, I would trim only a little bit off of the buds so they had a more uniform shape.. As for taste and smell, I suppose that may come down to the overall dryness of the bud when it goes into storage.. I had some that I over-dried, and even after almost 4 months in the jar, it still doesn't have much of a smell until I break it up.. Then, the vape does a great job of opening up the palate.. As for a couple of the plants I dried that came out well, part of me was thinking it was more of a strain-related thing, because the WWs that I cut last have a faint smell (jarred in mid Dec), but when I break it up, it WREAKS as if a skunk was run over by a citrus farmer's truck.. The AKR that I grew that smelled phenomenal throughout, I didn't trim ANYTHING by a couple fan leaves, and it damn near smells through the glass jar..

I always cut mine with as much leaf left on as I can get and hang them for a week. I check them every day and pull fan leaves as they dry. If your only one guy and you have a pile to trim. The extra leaf keeps them moist and protects the buds from light degradation. I personally think it gives them a much better flavor.

I don't want/intend to hijack this thread. Great information. I've heard some say that they place a hygrometer in the jar to measure humidity. What type of hygrometer is this that you use?

I put mine in a drying cabinet, hanging on the stem. I usually trim my stuff up pretty tight and save all the trim for dry ice hash runs. Bottom line there is no wrong way to trim or dry your stuff, except too fast is not good!:check:

Hey guys
I just try to prepare my drying room..
So I wonder is total absence of light ok or we need some light for drying. As we mentioned here direct light affects degrades ~THC so what if I dry them in a dark room with only a soft 20wattts bulb to switch on only when I go in to see how the buds are going?
Thanks guys and ladies
