Dry Buds Hard Or Not?

When you first cut them the hydrostatic pressure inside makes them hard, similar to how lettuce is crisp.

As they begin to dry and some of the moisture escapes they lose a bit of this as the buds wilt. As it dries and shrinks more it should get hard again.

Cut them by the branch and hung them in my tent to dry no light just a fan to keep air moving and the exhaust fan. Temps in the 70-80 and humidity 65% for 4 day now curing Ball jars burping everyday.

You only dried them for 4 days and your humidity was at 65%??? Usually when you dry you want your humidity to stay at 60% or under. You may have needed to let your plants dry for another week before putting in jars to cure. 4 days @ 65% is really a short dry. Curious what made you jar them so quickly?

Edit:
For reference: I wet trim and use brown paper bags to dry, which usually dries quicker than hanging branches. I have yet to let them dry for less then 5 days. My last harvest took almost 9 days @ 60% humidity.

This is my first grow I was drying in my tent can't control the temp or humidity that easy. It's in a shop with no AC and it gets hot in there. The buds seemed really dry to the touch and I thought I had messed up. They were really dry so I put Integra Boost RH 62% 2 Way Humidity Control nah in the jars.

Have you seen any mold on the buds? How do they feel now? They definitely could have been dried and good to jar. Buds do hold moisture in the inside. I've found that I want the buds to feel a crispy on the outside but spongy as well. I want them to hold their form even when I give them a little test squeeze. Do you have little hygrometers that you can put in your jar? One of the best investments I've made, takes the guess work out.
