I grew a DP Auto Ultimate, the seedling was also VERY tiny. I had to harvest it early and still got 13 ounces from it!

That's an eazyPyramid, it's basically just coco held in place by some sort of polymer. The nice thing is they air-prune themselves quite well but are less useful if you plan to hand-water. The structure of my plant, for real, is like one grown in a solo cup, just bigger. A flood/drain table or drip feed would probably be best with these. If you want to know a lot more about them, @The Iconoclast and @kfigerm have threads dedicated to them. They are the ones who inspired me to try them. Part of that whole system are also the buffered and fertilized eazyPlugs. Those are gonna become a new staple for me.
Funnily enough that sort of mitigated itself. You see all the Salt on the side walls, apparently there's no water going in OR out through that. So that's neat.

hi @Druid the ultimate can grow big, also grew one in a pyramid partially outside - she took the whole tent when i put her in and was my biggest till then. So you definitely need space if you put one on a pyramid. Outside and pre harvest
My friend who got the runtz from me also complains about the moisture in the air, he thinks is because of the pyramids. He put her on a wilma tray and feeds "too often", but not really a problem.
You also got your "mold" mitigated i think now with the salts built up?
After you got used to this behaviour you can go for minimizing your fertilizer use in the next runs with the pyramids, so you save some money.
I got my nutes dialled in so narrow now that i nearly have no salt build up, but the roots cover the surface and prevent moisture and mold.
But now that the end nears i put a dehumifier in the tent.

Oh, don't have an Ultimate but a White Widow (also DP tho). I was just to surprised by how small the seeds and the seedling were. Yeah I got the mold mostly under control now. And when I say I, I mean the several Millimeters of Salt on the pyramid
For now I'm going to be returning to my regular growing methods from before, good old coco in a pot. Nothing beats coco in a pot.
The high concentration feed appears to be working amazingly well. So far the visible difference each day was quite moderate. Today they were clearly thicker. Might also just be the specific part of the growth period, who knows. I love it none the less.
I'm gonna have to remove a few leaves soon. Wanna keep them as long as I can of course but the humidity in germany has been crazy the last few weeks and I don't have an a.c.
Another reason I want to wait as long as possible are the mobile nutrients.

Yeah I would definitely like to have them with more elaborate set ups, but that is the beauty that others with more room and ideas go different routes. My route is designed especially for a very small space meant now for single strain grows. So over all we get to see all different ways. the block is good, but it's not good for hand watering because it's too wobbly. So the question then, is it better to use the block or not, is, it depends on how you want to use it. But I'm particularly focused on compact and foolproof, albeit with needing to be tended to. At six inches off the tent floor and a flat light you could probably use a 150 or even a 120cm tall tent.
it vegged for 42 days, longest I've seen in an auto. she probably would have gone 100 + days. I chopped at 90 because of damned spidermites.
Aww man, I waited to respond explicitly because I had something cool to make my setup more elaborate but dhl is doing dhl things and now I have to wait longer. These things here: https://drain-master.de/ A full on drain table would be overkill for my 3 plants but with those I can build a nice automated waste water removal. As a coco grower it's nice to be able to have easily removable runoff collection but more importantly they have a little spout where you can plug a hose to. so i can collect the runoff from all 3 and then pump it out to the drain.
Eventually. The first run I'm gonna still do everything by hand, then automate the drainage, then the run after that automate the watering. One improvement at a time, keeps the hobby exciting
I just put some loose coco in the gap between the plug and the block to stop it wiggling around.
i had to look them up, never had those before. fingers crossed it stays that way.
@Druid, my plugs sit on a table and i was considering making it into a drain table but I keep eschewing any elaboration because my main game at the moment is to try and understand autos better, I kinda only now feel I'm getting a bit of a handle on it. I throw the pyramid around a lot, as I slide them off the table onto the drain tub, I also pick them up and move them around a lot too so for me the block is unnecessary stress, and it produced no noticeable difference hand watering. I still feel I am a long way from cracking the ideal nutrient feeding program if there is such a thing.
there is of course; do it like an all you can eat buffet. you serve everything and the next day you open a new buffet. drain to waste hydroponic using coco.
by having a porous substrate you have the aeration but you can also flush with every watering. since you can't overwater coco you can run a lot of solution through it every time. but you don't let it dry back or other soil-like behaviours. nah, 2 days later you do the same. then daily once the plant it "big" enough.
it's like doing hydro but changing the res every 2 days. best results.
that's why i'm so excited about my little potty stools. they allow me to do that without hassle.
Days 49, 32 and 21. Let's start on the right today: The DP White Widow is growing well but she's started feeding quite heavily, have to look out for that now. I topped her today after having to take off 3 nodes on the ES Strawberry Cola in the middle.
I had to take off so much just to get the net thingy halfway decently down there to spread everything out. Could look better but it'll have to do for now.
Now, our lovely little RQS Epsilon on the very left there is doing quite well. She is actually indicating that she's going towards the finish line. Which is nice, sure. I just would have loved to have her a little fuller. But for the amount of effort I put in, I am quite happy.
I actually got the dehumidifier out of storage today and am strongly considering just shutting the windows and pulling half the water out the air. Gonna have to see how the temps are but I can't deal with 70+ rh anymore.
