Druid's little grow thread

yap - the first legal harvest ...lol - and what about that "little" overshoot ;-) planning a big party to get rid of it? Enough people in your household? ;-) there will happen a lot of magic in germany with all that disappearing harvests.
overshoot? oh I'd be lucky if i scratch 50g dripping wet with that plant on the left.

but that's actually a great topic. because of the restrictions I've cut away a lot and sacrificed plant volume for shape. it's worked beautifully, don't get me wrong. there's maybe a fistfull of b class buds, the rest is a grade. which is nice. but having a big fucking jungle in your tent is way better, I've heard.

i think the restrictions are part of the plan to dry up the black market (the organised crime part) since a lot of people are gonna grow more than they can keep, they'll have to dispose of it somehow, I'd imagine. if they were to gift it to friends and family, like peaches.. those people ain't gonna bother no peachdealer anymore.

Day 60 on the RQS Epsilon F1, this is what she's looking like atm. Needs a little more time.

Winter is coming, it's fast approaching from the west. The Epsilon, it's hella frosty!

IMG_20240616_185441.jpg

Day 63, the trichomes are turning milky atm and it's a beauty to behold because she's full of them.
From the side she's starting to look like a small-town pipe-cleaner convention

And now let's look how many there are

IMG_20240616_185433.jpg

For the small volume of the pyramid I'm quite happy with the final plant. So even when hand-watering and totally salting the earth, it's doing fine. Was a fun experiment.

Days 46 and 35 for the Strawberry Cola in the middle and White Widow on the right, just look at all those shades of green in my little tent. Isn't it nice. You can see the strawberry trying it's best to catch up with her big sister on the left. I've got high hopes for her. All the while the white widow is just continuing to grow. We've got another week of stretch ahead of us. More space would be amazing right now, I bet I could train her to take up half the tent by the end of stretch. But alas, I am suffering from success.

She's got an interesting mutation tho, look at the leaves, all the tips are rotating around their forward axis.

Going forward I'll stick to two plants. That way each one has 60x60, which should be manageable. My next round, after these three, will be Moby Dick photo. I'm going to start one plant from seed once I fell the Epsilon, that one is going to live for three weeks, after which I'll create all the cutting I can get from it (should be 4 descent ones and 2 babies). Those I'll root for two weeks, at which point the last of these current plants will get the chop. Then the best two of the cuttings will survive and it's business as usual. Sort of. I have ideas.

Not sure how feasible that is with cutting but we'll see

Oh boy, that White Widow is just growing and growing. I removed some small branches and a few leaves today, same for the Strawberry Cola on the left, now that the buds are swelling up something fierce, a few had to go so they don't crowd each other too much. Yield is not a concern to me.

IMG_20240619_131730.jpg

The plant looks exactly the same but I removed easily half the mass. I do hope she'll drink a little less now, she was up to 2L/day, and it's still basically spring here.

Barney's Farm had a little sale, of sorts, and I got myself some auto seeds for the next run. Moby Dick, Lemon Haze and some Mimosa x Orange.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves tho, there still is the Epsilon, she's gonna require a wee bit more than 60 days. Tho I did spot a few amber specs already. I guess 9 days to harvest, since I like an active high.

it's doing fine. Was a fun experiment.

This is the thing, after seeing the wild variation in pheno/genos, if you got a bad bean like the worst of my current 3 BPP, then you would likely attribute the salt build up to the problem, as it is you did not get a bad bean so you can conclude the salt build up is not a problem. I'm only just understanding this after 5 years of autos!

THAT might be exactly what happened with the autopot thing. I either had bad coco or a really fussy plant which led to all kinds of unexpected behaviour that I currently still attribute to the autopots. So I decided to get all the other variables in order first and then try the pots again to rule out anything else being or adding to the problem.

Days 70, 53, 42: The White Widow, on the right, won't stop growing, had to ratchet that side of the light up, and adjust the fan, a second time.

The White Widow is still doing that weird twisty thing with the tips on new leaves, gonna be interesting to see if she does the same with buds. The Strawberry Cola, in the middle, is in early flower and frostier than the Epsilon next to her.

A lot of her Trichomes a now starting to go cloudy and a very few are touched with amber already. I'm very much looking forward to the next steps.

Humidity over here is still crazy, has been in the 60s and 70s the last week. Doesn't seem to worry them tho, so that's nice.

RQS Epsilon F1 - Pre Chop
Alright, Alright, Alright, we've got some Australian temperatures now. It is fucking hot outside!

But inside good. Very good in fact. Today I gave the Epsilon her last cut, she's finishing out nicely and hasn't been drinking much anymore. And of course I took some pics:

Now that the leaves are gone you can see much better that she is in fact.. all colas.

IMG_20240626_121110.jpg

IMG_20240626_131255.jpg

There aren't any C grade buds on her, did find a few Bs but a good 80% of her are A grade and that.. is amazing.

The other two are also doing quite well but more on them once she got the chop.

UUuuuuuiiii, I completely forgot how potent self grown weed is. In the past I've only consumed pharmacy weed and boy does the fresh stuff hit different.

I've taken off a nug 3 days ago and hung it in the top of the tent, checked it with a wood moisture meter until it reached 11-12% and put it in a glass with a boveda pack for a day. It still smells very fresh and lawn-y but the effect. On my way to the bathroom I felt like my head was swimming through my hallway without any heavy couch locky effects.. So yeah. Fresh ftw
:baked:

That also means today is chop day for the epsilon. Not sure how I'll hang them yet

Okay, this is what it looks like now. I've cut away about half the mass of the white widow on the left and jammed the net thing in there. Will need to clean up the buds touching the net later but for now it's been enough stress. The Strawberry Cola, on the right, is starting to ripen now and already smells very nice and sweet.

IMG_20240630_124318.jpg

I've let the Epsilon die in the pot and cut her down today. she's gotten a little too crispy too quickly, so I've turned down the light to the lowest possible intensity.

Marvel at my highly professional drying setup:

IMG_20240630_124324.jpg

I'll have to pay attention and check the humidity regularly, to not let it get below 10% before I put it in the bag.

ps: yes, i had netting the entire time, i just don't like tying my plants into my tent.
