Too quiet here ya hunger strikers. Is everyone eating dry cereal these days? I'm not:

I got a $5 jar of high end marinara from my friend. Real nice and great ingredients.

I took a diced onion, 1¼lb ground chuck, 2 whole Italian sausage links, a whole garlic bulb, ½ bottle of dry red wine, a tomato from the garden, and a small jar of diced tomatoes with basil and built a sauce in my Dutchy for 3 hours. I pretty much stewed it and the texture of the meat is soft and velvety. Some of the best sauce I've made starting with a jar. Served over linguine noodles with grated parm.

Homemade garlic crouton bleu cheese salad with a splash of zesty Italian, some shredded white cheddar, red onion, carrots, iceberg, romaine, and red cabbage.

Hi guys. Let's see some grub!!

Alright stoners and stonettes. Had a special trip last night to the Royal with Nurse B's two sisters and us.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant of all time, and I have been a loyal patron for 25 years since they were in their first location...they had their own dedicated gorgeous building custom built about 10 years ago, and it still looks brand new. Hopefully the next generation in the family can keep the same standards that have served them so we'll and keep it going for another 25...seeing as they aren't spring chickens anymore.

They have won The Best Of award from The Democrat and Chronicle newspaper from Rochester for best Chinese food every year since they started the awards. They have em hanging one after the other over the bar and they go all the way back to 2000.

This is why:

Dragon & Phoenix all around. What a glorious photo. Sadly, it's all gone.

Lol...I made a nice Labor Day spread for the fam. We did a dinner for 8 with no pics!!! It was a high end bacon extravaganza. I made some red potato salad that came out great with crisp bacon, onions, celery and did some Jim Beam bourbon and Dewars Scotch baked beans in the Dutch oven...started on the induction burner with two onions carmelized in clear bacon fat for a half hour on low, added about 10oz of liquor and reduced it for 10 min, and then in the oven for a few hours with the top on...with pinto beans, black beans and white kidney beans and a pound of legit smoked pork belly slab. Totally addicting and a meal in itself. Everyone loves my baked beans and these were right up there. The secret is the bacon fat carmelized onions and the liquor. Try it. Served that with farmer stand steamed corn and some burgers on kaiser rolls with garden tomatoes, romaine hearts and more bacon.

The drinks were flowing, the soundtrack was perfect through the outdoor speakers, we chilled out on the back porch under the trellis and smoked some dope and went in the hot tub. My freaking adorable granddaughter came, she is almost 3 and looks like a cover girl for Diaper magazine. She's a shy little peach with the face of an angel.

On a musical note, the new Tool record is out after a 30 year wait...and they still aren't coming anywhere even close to little old me. Fuckers. It's Nurse B's all time triple favorite band times 10,000 days.

Corn is on the list of foods that cause an immune response in me. I grew some beautiful Old Fashioned Non-GMO corn this spring thinking I could eat that. I did and was sick for three days. The first day being rather intense; it felt like I was dying.

Oats and pecans don't seem to bother me much but the corn was off the carts with pain!

It's one of the tallest buildings in the city for fucks sake!!!
That really blows...corn is one of the best foods about summer in my opinion...even though the local stuff is never here till summer is almost over. I do distinctly remember you posting a pic or two from some homemade corn...and that was the last we heard about it. Sorry dude, that really sucks.

This is all non GMO stuff, they grow it in a big field behind their house. I was just talking to him about genetics and seeds. He doesn't like Monsanto. (Good for him) Their spread is more of a huge garden than a small farm, so he doesn't need the "benefit" from Roundup resistant crops. He actually has been using his own recycled seed stock whenever he can...I don't blame him one bit.

Whatever he's doing, he has a cult like following...he runs the stand on Thursday - Sunday from about 3:00 till 6:30 and has cars stopped pretty much one after the other, and they've done it for the past 6 or 8 years. It's getting to be Dr B's signature chilli o'clock, and I start my shopping here with a shit ton of assorted peppers. Soon my prettys. Very soon.

Some of the prettiest produce I've ever seen though. If I owned a sit down restaurant, I would make a deal with him lol. They pick everything the morning that it's being sold and they discount any previous picked stuff by 25%. I also like that there is no middle man. He has some really cool stuff, all veggies, like turnips, rutabaga, 3 or 4 kinds of eggplant, a whole slew of different peppers, the prettiest onions I've ever seen, this amazing sweet corn, broccoli, leeks and some other stuff that I am missing.

He runs it off a pair of wooden wagons that are pulled by a big tractor. I snapped that one pic a week ago. I do not like the older lady that sometimes runs it. She is not talky at all...like a lump...but dude is there more than her, and he is my age. He is the Jedi master anyway.

I've got corn from here every weekend since it was done. You don't even have to dig through the pile like I do at the hypermart. FYI this is the only place I use that word..sheerly because I think it's hilarious.

Just wanted to share that... considering y'all are a bunch of slack jawed yokels with a penchant for growing things, it seemed fitting.
