1884 I don't think so! My recollection is "Mirror mirror on the wall who in this land is fairest of all".

Dinner tonight Apple wood smoked Turkey and Italian Sausage, potato salad and a steamed Artichoke.

Good morning stoners. I made Nurse B some grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli, and a salad with a slice of sourdough that I got from the store...lol. Just kidding.

Had something new with breakfast this morning "Lions Mane Mushrooms". They fried up crispy, spongy, soft. The flavor is umami and may be better as an ingredient than as a stand alone course. We are eating squash with every meal now next comes the Zucchini Boats

@Dr.Bubbles do you have a bread slicing guide? I am pretty good with a knife but I manage to screw-up bread slices when I want thin consistent slices for sandwiches.

Seems the site was having some issues for the last few hours. I do not have a slicing guide. I do however own a very nice pair of bread knives...one being far more aggressive than the other. The mild knife works well for soft bread and the aggressor works for the sourdough.

I'm excited to try my next loaf...it is getting a longer proofing and has had a decent amount of kneading. I'm about to take it outta the fridge soon. It definitely feels a little lighter and more worked. It's super smooth.

On a side note....holy shit, Xbox dropped like a dozen games on Gamepass today. Wowza. Some real sick looking indie games as well as Metro Exodus and Arkham Knight. I play games, big deal...lol. I have been gaming since I had an Atari when it was brand new and I was a little fella

Well I could not find what I was looking for so I made one. Now that my Artisan loves are done I can drill the holes for the wide bread.

Here are the Classic Club Sandwiches, Farmer John Bacon, Apple Smoked Turkey, vine ripened tomato and Lettuce from the farmers market. My homemade white bread, lightly toasted, salt pepper and the main ingredient lots of Best Food's Real Mayonnaise. 4 large wooden picks (mandatory).

I made kettle chips with pink salt!!!

I remember trying this 25 years ago with less than desirable results.

With the power of the internet, KitchenAid food processor, induction burner, Dutch oven and a not being a kid, this was a complete success.

The recipe calls for peeled Russets. I made two long potatoes worth....peeled one and left the other with the skin on. It doesn't matter...whichever way you prefer is just fine. The skins are good anyway, and less work.

You sucked me into the bread carbs but I have to draw the line at potatoes:nono:.

Went to the Doc. first thing this morning - routine visit. My A1c was not bad today as I am still in good control albeit a little higher than normal. So I did not have to fess-up about my bread baking and eating :woohoo:. I promptly added some toast to my breakfast this morning after getting home. That loaf is even better today. The crust is chewy and crispy at the same time. The crumb is firm and substantial; it did not get more sour.
