Hi Guys,

So this is my first diary over in the AFN hut.. Its a grow I started a while ago so is half way through atm.

Appologies for the incomplete diary but I have some lovely DP photos that have just risen too, im waiting for the last bean to pop and I will start those diary's shortly

StarRyder - Day 45

So I have had some nute issues recently, starting to get yellowing and necrosis.. I was using HESI nutes and after buying some accurate EC and PH meters.. It was clear my water was to alkaline and the HESI nutes seemed to be dropping out..

At the base of the plant (Im using AutoPots with a flood drain valve). The reading with HESI - pH 7.7 EC 0.8.

I have now decided to go with a new nutrient package Canna.. Ive heard rumours that Hesi nutes are half organic and wont stay in water.. BTW HESI dont bother advertising this so be careful..

My reading using the Canna package are pH 7.1 EC 2.1 (The pH goes in at 6.6 but the airstone in Res rasies the bloody pH) So now i just have to make sure the water in the res never stays there to long before i refresh it with 6.6pH solution..

So The yellow and necrosis is still there but i dont think it will go away.. They do seems healthy and are putting on half decent wait considering i am still ony just over half way through the grow...

I have a feeling the new nutes are doing the trick

Glad to apart of the AFN team now . More diarys to come soon and Big Budz The smell on the StarRyder is unique very sweet with a diesel tone. Some days she really does a strong smell already.. Very nice

Hey Mr Sparkles, try this: When you do a post, click the Go Advanced button, once the next window opens for you, then scroll down to the Manage attachments button and click that another window will open that you can upload your pics that you want to work with directly from your computer, then you can choose inline attachement or whatever, but once your photos are uploaded just drag them down into the lower part of that attachment window and you are ready to go with the pics. It takes a little while, I usually start uploading the pics and then type my post, by the time i am down typing usually the pics are ready! Hope that this helps merry Christmas mate!!

Flowering Day 59

Hi Guys,

Ive had a fight with the mold on these girls.. Really gutted as they look pretty tastey apart from that..

The smell is Watermelon/Apples, Which is interesting as most others say pineapple.. The tester I have tried seem to a slight CBD content effect but it wasnt ready yet..

These StarRyders have grown very well and would be my go to Auto so far in regards to smell and amount of resin glands and trichomes. I was the one who made the 2/3 major cock ups no be avoided in future to achieve the best results..

1. The one StarRyder that was LST'd at a glance is at least 50% heavier than the others. StarRyders work well with LST!
2. Putting guanokalong mix in your soil near the start of plants life.. Ive realised running Autos 3 times now, that they do respond in some way at least to the N-P-K formula going in to how long they stay in Veg (Allowing for bigger taller/plants if much less P&K are introduced).
3. Not really my fault per say in this grow but mold is a fucker.. Ive now got the tools + Knowledge to prevent Mold better rather than just learning how to spot it then remove it.

- Bigger Fans -
- Pull dry air in
- Use neem repel or other immune boosters in pre-flower
- Remove one cluster of calyxes from the largest tops to increase airflow at week 6/8 of flower
- Dab the moist areas of the bud i.e. inside the tops with ISO (Rubbing alcohol) before they get mold should prevent it by keep moister away..

I havent tried the last one yet but the science is correct so should work.

Here are the Star Ryders with about 2 weeks left based on 70 day chop. They do seem to have matured quick.. Id like to get them out asap how long do we think? Full 70 days / 80 days, i know the cant go on the trichomes for autos as they dont change the same way photos do..

In my example, I added a ":" between the M and G in the beginning so it wouldn't post the pic, only show you the code.

Just use the picture frame app above the text window that you're posting in to paste the url of your picture and your done. (between the "envelope" and the "film strip")
