New Grower DP Auto Ultimate-LED-NFT Grow.

day 16 now and started a light feed of hopefully the right stuff. i bought the nutes as a pack and have no idea really what they are so just read the bottles and put a quarter of the stated dose of pk4-6, npk and root boost.this turned out to be 290ppm. i was hoping for around 300 so that went well. asuming its the right nutes anyway? ph dropped down to 5.5 but im asuming that will go back up again so just left it alone. still not grown past the first set of leaves but they look healthy so im happy.

day 19 now. the girls are still tiny but the nutrients are clearly working as theyre looking much better than they did 3 days ago when i started them. just changed the nft resevoir and it was thankfully a piece of piss .finally sussed out what the wee extra bit to the pump was. its for attaching the wee bit garden hose to the pump. just pop that on and pump it out then put the pump in the tubs of fresh water and repeat back in. mint : ) getting 20 litres up and down a ladder with a very precarious climb up the attic on the other hand. not so easy. gave them same feed as last time. 0.5ml/l of hydro a+b, roost boost and added the same of calmag. brought the ppm up to 370. i plan to increase the doses by about 10-15% a week for a while and see how i get on as they look like theyre growing properly now so fingers crossed :) oh and LED is now set at 20".

I use fold up water carriers from the camping shop for that climb up the ladder bud....like a thick plastic bag with a handle moulded in and a cap that can be screwed on so it should be difficult to spill.

A spare pump is handy for res changes too....and a nice big bucket like a cool box for mixing fresh nutrient solution in and another bucket for waste. If new nutrient solution is prepared and on hand the pump feeding the roots can be left running as the res won't be empty for any length of time and there is hopefully less chance of shocking plants than trying to mix nutes in the res.

If we're re mixing stuff in the res and screw up it could be bad for the plants and mean more trips up and down the ladder in a hurry. If we mix res changes away from the plants we can reduce risk of a screw up getting as far as the res.
:pass:

camping shop shal be my mission for my next days off cheers man. its a total nightmare lol. i got a good wash on the first trip up though : ) i was gonna invest in a spare pump anyway. i remember blowing my fish tank pump when i pulled it out turned on so figure theyre bound to blow now and again doing this if your not careful/too stoned. i had everything there already mixed and phd to 5.5 after a days breathing. also need to get a spare heater so that the fresh batch isnt 10*c when i put it in. the res has been dropping to 18*c but usually sits 20-22. so pretty steady for an led attic grow. not sure what temp the room is as my temp/humidty meter still hasnt turned up.

day 21. girls are now growing at an awesome rate. ran into another issue though. cody lane seems to have developed a wee problem which looks like the start of a phosphorus deficiency to me. the ph went from 5.8 24hours ago to 6.3 now. this usually goes up only 0.2/24h. ive just put it back to 5.75. theyre getting pk,npk, root boost and calmag all at 0.5ml/L any suggestions folks? @KushNFT @jingo what you reckon?

With the Ionic nutes I use they seem to need as much time under pH 5.8 as over it. I'd have done the same as you to recover but also try to catch the next swing sooner or slow it down with a little more base nutes.
mate next time ill be using rockwool starter cubes instead of rr. theyll be planted straight into them instead of wet baggied. surely mixing mediums like that cant be beneficial? both sets of cubes properly cleaned for 2 days, properly ph to 5 to cope with the rise and the seeds not planted untill they are. ill be putting some nutes in their too. ill be using a heated propegator instead of my cupboard. a proper seedling light instead of a mars600. drilling another hole in the roof of the bedroom cupboard to run a pipe into a big tub to pump my res into for changing. and the list goes on and on. and im only 3 weeks in. next crops looking better already lol

ahah! i can drill the hole in my cupboard roof/attic floor on monday!!!! ill get a bigger pump aswell for pumping fresh nutes back up into the res ! genious! love those wee moments in life :woody:just like the dancin, yellow, cock out space pig.

hmmm just had thought. seeing as my girls are feeding from the same res and only one of them has a nute def, could it be a problem with her roots? is it ok to lift them out and have a look ? gonna read my bottles again, do some googling and up the doses slightly when i get back from work

When I do Coco with auto feed, I can run along fine and get an isolated deficiency. Just one or two leaves and it is root issue, in my case water channels and salt pockets.

Don't know if it's safe to look it not
